Worked fine the first time. Was thrilled with it. Perfect for hot chocolate. After that, nothing. Put new batteries in twice. Still nothing.

Great product that I've been using in my office for nearly a year now. I did have some problems with the stirrer sticking or locking up between uses but I found that keeping some water in the bottom of the cup between uses would keep it from sticking.
Before this one, I had a similar mug sold by Advantage and found that the motor in that one was not nearly as powerful as this one. Especially good for keeping hot chocolate mixed and not settling to the bottom of the cup. Also, I found that if you first add your milk or liquid creamer along with enough coffee to just cover the stirrer you could use the stirrer to froth it before adding the rest of your coffee.

Good concept, poor execution.,

Bought this from Thinkgeek. Great concept, worked fine, but...I have a few complaints. The activation mechanism is an annoying momentary switch, which you have to hold down while using. I have carpel tunnel, so holding down the switch is inconvenient, and a bit painful. Also, it isn't very well assembled. The button is covered by a clear piece of plastic, which is not even attached to the rest of the mug. Also, while the soldering job connecting the button to the wiring appears sound, it is very weak. I ripped mine off while studying the mechanism. I intended to replace this momentary switch with a small toggle switch, which I actually bought today. But the wires are so fine and fragile that re-soldering them is beyond my considerable ability. Furthermore, the stainless steel interior, while very cool on paper, is actually a bit difficult to clean, and gives a distinct metallic taste to drinks. The cover is a bit awkward, and difficult to get clean. Basically, this mug is a good prototype for a self stirring mug, but there is at least one better product out there.

Two in a row leaky,

I bought this same product from Thinkgeek.com, but they don't have a review section, and I feel the need to warn someone. I returned the first mug I got because it leaked. I got the second one and had to return it for the same reason.

I got one of these for my dad once except the bottom of the cup was all plastic. Battery Acid burd through it. Luckly my mom saw it before my dad drank from it again. He loved it for a week. Used it everyday.

Stopped working after two weeks,

Same result as everyone else. Bought it from thinkgeek and it stopped working after two weeks. It worked on Friday, didn't work on the following Monday. I was happy with it despite the condensation between the two layers (stainless steel and plastic) and subsequent leaking at the crease between the clear plastic and black plastic bottom. It left round rings on my desk or paperwork. It's a good concept and it had a wow factor among my coworkers, but it needs more design time.

gimmicky piece of crap,
This review is from: Whirl Wind Mug - Self Stirring
This mug is a waste of money for so many reasons. The batteries tend to slip out of their slots, so you have to flip the cup over to check them just about every time you use the propeller. The piece of plastic that 'protects' the switch is prone to falling off. And the outer insulating layer is not watertight, meaning that the electronics are exposed and that it doesn't insulate hot drinks very well. Save your money and get a spoon instead.
