I bought this to use with my fire pit. It is quite simple. You can use the three enclosed popcorn mixes. Or you can buy popcorn kernels at the grocery store, add oil and pop and season your own. The enlclosed popcorn tastes fine, and is convenient for traveling or camping. The kids had fun outside using the popper to make their own popcorn over the firepit. The construction of the popper is excellent. Good quality. The handle is long enough. The handle is easily removed for storage. We also use this popper for making stove top popcorn. I like microwave popcorn, but the stovetop method just reminds me of childhood and actually seems to taste better.
