Twenty Four Short Stories,
By
This review is from: Whirligigs (Hardcover)
This appears to be part of a series of books printed by Doubleday, Page & Co. containing most of O'Henry's short stories. Originally the books were printed between 1904 and 1919 by P.F Collier & Son. This particular collection was reprinted in 1922. I cannot be sure, but I believe the entire series was 12 books total. Each book in this 1922 series is titled by the first short story in the book, but there are always around 20 to 30 different stories in each book.
This volume, Whirligigs contains twenty four short stories in 314 pages: The World and the Door; The Theory and the Hound; The Hypothesis of Failure; Calloway's Code; A Matter of Mean Elevation; "Girl"; Sociology in Serge and Straw; The Ransom of Red Chief; The Marry Month of May; A Technical Error; Suite Homes and Their Romance The Whirligig of Life; A Sacrifice Hit; The Roads We Take; A Blackjack Bargainer; The Song and the Sergeant; One Dollar's Worth; and A Newspaper Story.
