Alpha Zip is a great archiving program. It's really easy to use, and it does and lot of file types like gzip, cab, and some other formats that aren't handled by WinZip.
It makes self-extracting executable files too, which is a big thing for me. I paid a lot more to get this feature with PKZip. Really great product for the price... you can't go wrong.

Save hard drive space!,

I like this program because I used it to compress a lot of image files and then I saved them on a CD and got them off my hard drive!!
These folders were too big to put on a CD until I compressed them with Alpha Zip. Alpha ZIP is completely compatible with other ZIP compression software. I've never had a problem with unzipping any other archives. Alpha ZIP is a really low cost solution to keeping your data backed up. Norton Ghost wouldn't write to my CD drive, so I used Alpha ZIP and it worked great.
