It fixed the problem, until I let the electric leads make contact with the fryer frame. Do not plug in dryer until the sensor is secured in place. I'm ordering a second one

My clothes dryer was not drying the clothes properly thus indicating that it broken and need to be fixed. I check and see that the average cost to have an appliance repairman to come out and repair it would be $250. At that price, I decided to fix it myself.

I heard that the most common cause is the valve coil going bad so I check the cost of a valve coil. It ranges from $15-$30. I thought that is not too expensive just to buy a new one and replace it. When I actually talk to a supplier, the cost turns out to be $100 because my dryer is a very old model.

At that price I decided that I better diagnosis first before spending $100. After taking the dryer apart and testing the flame sensor, I notice that the flame sensor did not shows any continuity. The Multimeter shows OL(Open Line), thus showing the there is no current flowing through the flame sensor while connected.

I decide to replace the bad flame sensor first before spending $100 for a valve coil. Ebay had one for $16 and I order it. After sometime, I finally receiving it and replace the flame sensor on my dryer. Now my dryer works perfectly.

I decided to check on Amazon to see if they have this item and they had it for $14.5 and it qualify for prime 2 days free shipping. I could have order it from Amazon and get it in 2 days for free with my Prime Amazon membership, thus would have been able to use my dryer in 2 days instead of having to wait for a long period before receiving the flame sensor from an Ebay vendor, resulting in not being able to use my clothes dryer for quite awhile.

Again I should have check on Amazon before looking elsewhere. But who would have thought that Amazon would have a flame sensor for a clothes dryer.

The price for gas flame sensors are very high. That is why I was looking online for the best deal, there was another seller who had a better deal however there was no picture. This seller did enclose a sketch of the unit which for me was the selling point, the few extra dollars it cost was worth the piece of mind in knowing I got the right product. As for the item itself, it arrived on time and boxed up very nicely as to avoid any damage. It installed quickly and works very well.

Just what I needed. While reassembling my broken dryer, after (probably) needlessly replacing the motor and blower wheel, I noticed an extra wire that I didn't recall disconnecting. Turned out a terminal had broken off the flame sensor. May well have been the base cause of the problem. As is often the case, Amazon Prime to the rescue. Easy to locate the part on the site, and got it in the prescribed two days. Dryer works great.

This flame sensor is a direct fit replacement for P/N 2681 for my Admiral (Whirlpool) clothes dryer. Sensor was the same dimensions as the old, no problems with fit. Sensor is working well, no issues after installation.

When you need it you need it. Ended up with $50 in 3 different parts instead of $400+ in repairman costs and multiple visits. Cann't go wrong there.

After watching some youtube videos on dryer repair, I easily replaced this sensor and the dryer works just fine. Entire job from start to finish took no more than 1.5 hours and it was my first time ever attempting an appliance repair.
