This filter is the exact same filter sold by Sears under the Kenmore brand. The equivalent Kenmore part number is 32-83378. Whirlpool pre-filter # 8171434K will fit Kenmore Progressive air purifiers for models 83200 and 83202. I bought this for my Kenmore Progressive air purifier and compared it to the Kenmore replacement pre-filters that I had previously bought from Sears. The filters are an exact match; even the box is the same except for what is printed on it. At the time of this writing Sears charges $10 more for the Kenmore part number than Whirlpool. If you own a Kenmore Progressive air purifier that takes Kenmore pre-filter 32-83378, I highly recommend purchasing this one to save yourself $10 and to discourage Sears from marking up there filters such a ridiculously high amount.

I bought these directly from Amazon (for a good price) for my AP510 unit and they are genuine Whirlpool pre-filters. Perhaps the person who said they got 3rd party pre-filters did not buy directly from Amazon.
