Replacement filter? Just the basics...,

This review is from: Whirlpool Aftermarket HEPA 1183054 Filter (Kitchen)
The OEM filter has a plastic frame and is rigidly braced. This aftermarket replacement looks more like the cardboard-framed filter you'd buy for your furnace. I hope the filter works as well as the original, and the cost-savings is only in the frame. I also hope the suction generated by the fan will not distort the filter over time.
These filters are supposed to have a one-year life. Perhaps I'll be able to give a better review in a year.Whirlpool Aftermarket Replacement 1183054 Filter

Third Party replacement filter,

This is a third party filter replacement pack. The filter are not an exact fit for the Whirlpool Whispure 510 Air Purifier (AP510). With some effort, you can force it in since the frame is made of medium weight cardboard instead of Whirlpool's hard plastic caulked with silicon gel.
I'm pleased to save the extra $$$ for the same functionality, but would have preferred knowing that it was not a Whirlpool branded product.

I get these every year for the purifier. They work fairly well but are way to expensive for what they are and do. I have winter allergy and have to use a pruifier

Company will not guarantee that is an actual HEPA filter,
This review is from: Whirlpool Aftermarket HEPA 1183054 Filter (Kitchen)
When I ordered these I thought I was getting an actual HEPA filter. When they arrived their appearance raised a giant "red flag". For starters they are constructed of cardboard and the filter material itself is of questionable appearance as well.
When I called the company to get some verification that they were actually HEPA filters I was told that they were "better than HEPA filters supplied by Whirlpool...". When I asked for verification in writing I was told they do not share that information.... This is clearly a product not supported by the claims of the original HEPA product by Whirlpool , and as a person with allergies I need that support. I am getting tired of my time being wasted with questionable "knock-offs". The time it took to settle the issue was excessive and then the $76.00 that it took to send them back was not reimbursed.

The price of this air filter is what the market will bear but is ridiculous. $60 for this is crazy. I should be in the filter business.
