4.0 out of 5 stars great buy for the money
I recently purchased the Sears version of this model (DU1301), and it replaced a Whirlpool that was about 6 years old. 1.0 out of 5 stars not happy
So far, I'm very unhappy with this dishwasher. I've had it 5 days. Although the bottom rack is taller, the machine holds less than my previous one. It is not as deep. And-- when I use the rinse cycle the "wash" light immediately lights up. I've let it "rinse" as much as 31 minutes then I shut it off. Once I forgot it was "rinsing" and left the room, when I came...

I recently purchased the Sears version of this model (DU1301), and it replaced a Whirlpool that was about 6 years old. The installer pointed out that the only real difference in this model and the much more expensive models is that the more expensive tend to be quieter, though the noise from this model doesn't seem excessive or distracting and most importantly it cleans dishes quite effectively. This model also has a deeper bottom rack, so that now I do not have to be as strategic in loading large items, which often bumped up against the center washing arm in the old model. I also questioned the installer if there was a real benefit to the stainless tub versus the plastic, and he explained that he replaces a similar number of each, and that leaks from the tub are rare regardless of the construction material (my previous model was plastic and never leaked), and that normally leaks come from the water supply hose beneath the washer, rather than the tub. Overall I'm very happy with this relatively inexpensive dishwasher (~$320 from Sears).

Once I forgot it was "rinsing" and left the room, when I came back much later the "done" green light was lit. It is quieter than my previous one. The silverware rack is not nearly as large as my old one. And it does not fit in the door (which I was told it did before ordering). Unless I like it better in a few days, I'm not keeping it. Not sure what my options there are from the dealer. I had a 10 year old Kenmore which was made by Whirlpool.
