5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dishwasher
I wanted to wait awhile before reviewing this dishwasher because performance often decreases with time. I've had this dishwasher for two years and am very happy with it. Previously I had a GE and Fridgidaire and they were useless. The GE couldn't clean peanut butter off knives even when it was brand new. With both the previous dishwashers I had to rinse the dishes...

1.0 out of 5 stars Motor broke at 23 months
This dishwasher was great until the motor broke at 23 months. A $300 fix and whirlpool wouldn't help out at all. Very disappointing!

3.0 out of 5 stars WORKS GREAT BUT NEEDS EXTRA PARTS, July 11, 2011
This review is from: Whirlpool : GU2275XTVY 24 Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 6 Automatic Cycles Stainless Steel
This was a Consumer Reports Best Buy and, overall, has very high ratings on other sites. Once installed the dishwasher performed EXCELLENTLY- dishes came out clean & sparkling, and even has a "Sani-Rinse" cycle that sterilizes the dishes with high heat. Be forewarned, however. This dishwasher, like most, DOES NOT COME WITH A POWER CORD. You will have to remove the plug-in cord from your old one or buy another cord. Luckily, this is an easy fix & not too hard to install if you follow directions. However, the manual shows a 90 degree elbow fitting to attach to the water supply. THIS IS NOT INCLUDED. Supposedly Whirlpool, when they bought out Maytag, changed the entire water intake configuration so you have to buy this extra part from them for $14. I paid $2.98 at Home Depot. If you are using direct copper tubing for the water intake, you will also need a ferrule & nut kit (also at Home Depot, about $1.20). And chances are, it will still leak. Be advised the control panel is on the top of the door, facing up, so you can't see it unless you're next to it looking down.(Are the dishes clean?) It also comes with a handle (not shown in any of the pictures) you need to open the door, that may interfere with opening drawers at right angles near it. We've always had Kenmores, but I only paid $409.00 from Lowe's. Let's see how it holds up.

1.0 out of 5 stars You can have clean plates, dishes, pots..., October 26, 2011

You can have clean plates, dishes, pots...if you want your glasses to have nasty little baked on pieces of crap, in which you have to soak them for a day or more to get them clean.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed with this dishwasher, April 11, 2011
This review is from: Whirlpool : GU2275XTVY 24 Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 6 Automatic Cycles Stainless Steel
Bought this dishwasher new at hhgregg. It lasted for 15 months. It quits pump water out and makeing noises when does it.
After 11 months, the door's platic piece fell out. I replaced this new Whirlpool dishwasher with a 15 years old Kenmore which still working...just old.
I am not sure that what happen to mine is just one of the defected unit or the quality of the component(s) only last for that long, just long enough to pass the warranty period. If you are planing to buy this dishwasher, an extended warranty may come handy, or looking for other manufacturers...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Dishwasher, January 10, 2012

I wanted to wait awhile before reviewing this dishwasher because performance often decreases with time. I've had this dishwasher for two years and am very happy with it. Previously I had a GE and Fridgidaire and they were useless. The GE couldn't clean peanut butter off knives even when it was brand new. With both the previous dishwashers I had to rinse the dishes completely clean before putting them in. With this dishwasher, I just rinse off the big stuff. This dishwasher cleans almost everything off dishes including dried egg and peanut butter. The only things it can't completely clean off dishes are avocado and it doesn't completely clean my crockpot when things have crusted on it after a day of use. I doubt there's a dishwasher out there that could clean these things. The other thing I like about this dishwasher is it's quiet. If your getting spotting on your glasses you probably aren't using Jet Dry. Consumer Reports rates this dishwasher higher than a Bosch that costs twice as much. I'm not suprised. My next dishwasher will be a Whirlpool.
