Customer Reviews

Purchase July 2011 and element fried December 2011.

Unfortunately, there is no return policy as these are electrical parts that are put into a dryer.

This item is a knockoff and will burn out after about 3 months just as others have said. Make sure you get a FSP from a legitimate dealer, it will cost a little more but you won't have to replace it after 3 months. This company should be banned from Amazon for their blatant scam.

I was initially pretty happy with this item, as it was inexpensive, arrived swiftly and installed quite easily and I got my dryer up and running very quickly. I was very excited at first. Then the very next day the thing conked out on me, and I know I installed it properly, cleared away any lint etc, so I definitely cannot recommend this item to anyone and can only recommend that you get the more expensive OEM part. I guess this proves the old adage "You get what you pay for".

Purchase July 2011 and element fried December 2011. Contacted seller about such a short lived item with no response whatsoever. Am now worried about the fuse combo as well, are they working properly? Will they keep the dryer from overheating and burning up my house? So buyer beware, best to purchase a FSP/Whirlpool original heating element vs. wasting you money and having to replace again in 5 months. Just don't understand why seller's peddle such junk knowing the product is garbage!

The element replaced the original element that lasted about 6 years. It was easy to replace and lots of videos online to help. However, this replacement part only lasted about 4 months. When I did the replacement I cleaned out any lint that I could while I had everything open. Over the 4 months there was a small amount of lint build up outside the surround of the heating element, but nothing significant. The element ended up charred with a break in it. The sheet metal under the element separated by ceramic insulators was very discolored as if it got extremely hot. Looking over the other reviews now, I see I'm not alone in my experience. I found another one on Amazon.com for $25 with Free Super Saver shipping that has very good reviews. I didn't end up using the included thermal fuse parts, as the originals tested fine and they still test just fine.

After six months, element burned out.

Installed complete kit after lint buildup caused thermal fuse to trip. Heater element installed easily and was a copy of OEM part. Thermal fuse was of a different design, but installed into existing mount properly.

Assembly was cleaned and reassembled and worked for one month before fuse tripped again. Not sure if this is a quality or design issue.

Bought this part 6 months ago because it had pretty good reviews and was half the price of an original part....BAD IDEA! Heating element lasted only 6 months (element wire broke), so I bought a genuine Whirlpool part and compared them side by side. What a difference! This part is on a flimsy frame and the heating wire is noticeably smaller diameter. Spend the extra money and get the OE quality part! I'm a bargain hunter, but I learned my lesson on this one.

I cleaned out the bottom of our dryer and the ducting and used all 3 replacement parts included in this pack. The termostat fuse blew 3 dryer loads later. Cheap garbage. There is NO reason for the fuse to blow unless the thermostat is not shutting off for over 100 degrees above what it should, so either the themostat is crap or the fuse is. Either way both came with this kit...

We bought this to replace the original, which was 13 years old and this one barely lasted 1 year. Oh well, at least it was cheap, but they should sell them in a 6-pack so you have extras on hand.
