5.0 out of 5 stars It fits!
My medium sized washer and dryer broke. The new washer driers apparently only come large (27 in. wide) or super large. The only other washer and drier stackable set besides this Thin Twin that would fit through my small laundry room doorway cost over $2000. Two weeks of no washer-drier and running to the laundrimat and now this little laundry center is a real gem. I may...

As one of the other reviewers noted, the washer drum jumps off the hydraulics regularly.

We put one of these in one our apartments. It worked well for about a year and then headed south.

I watched as a repairman opened it. The washer drum is held up by three struts/shock absorbers that sit in these slightly cupped supports. If the wash...

We put one of these in one our apartments. It worked well for about a year and then headed south.

I watched as a repairman opened it. The washer drum is held up by three struts/shock absorbers that sit in these slightly cupped supports. If the wash isn't perfectly balanced (and how could any be that way), it jumps off the strut.

Great size. Not at all built to last.

I may have to do an extra load here and there but there is a big difference between doing laundry at home and having to cart it out of the house. Appliance manufacturers take note- many of us live in modest townhouses and condos!

I have owned this washer for a year and a half and it continues to break. The internal hydraulics get knocked off one by one and the drum goes flying off its axis. Then, not only will you have a wet mess of unfinished laundry, but you will need to foot the bill for the visit from the appliance repair guy. If you are looking to buy this machine, plan on a capacity of 2 washcloths and a tiny bathing suit...and make sure to have the repair man's number on speed dial. Make the investment in a front loader and save yourself the hassle and innumerable repair bills.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst washer and dryer ever, March 17, 2011
This review is from: Whirlpool LTE5243DQ 24-Inch Thin-Twin Stacked Washer/Dryer Electric Laundry Center (Kitchen)
If I could give this combo set less than one star I would. It's awful. One pair of jeans and a couple shirts are all that will fit in the tiny wash tub. Then the chances of an out of balance cycle are inevitable. Even when the system stays balanced the spin cycle is so rough that I can hear it throughout my apartment. My neighbors can hear it too. The dryer is pathetic. I have to run a 50 minute dry cycle at least twice for every load. If I've decided to wash jeans or towels, I often have to run it three times. I've rented this washer set for five months, and have broken my contract early just so they'll come take the monster away. Take my advice and run away as fast as you can.

If you want to wash or dry a towel a time, it is ok. If you want to wash or dry two towels at a time... forget about buying this unit, because they will not fit.

Whirlpool uses horrible paint, and the drum/cover will soon rust out ruining all your whites. Beware!
