As others mention - the motor works great and for less than $100 you can pretty much make your dryer new again. Four stars because it would be nice if it included the motor pulley. Removing the pulley requires a 3/16 hex wrench; getting the set screw off was the most time-consuming part of my job. After bending a standard Allen wrench, I headed for Lowes and picked up a 3/16" hex drive that fits in a 3/8" socket drive. Mounting the dead motor in a vise for stability, I first tried using an impact driver to no avail and then went to the hand wrench and brute forced the set screw loose. After the screw released with a loud snap everything was pretty easy. Pulley came right off and went onto the new motor with ease. As the other reviewer noted you'll have to re-terminate a couple of wires. Do this before you install the motor as its pretty tight in there. Secondly, once inside the dryer its almost impossible to see the motor's terminal numbers so getting the connections right can be difficult. I found that writing down the wiring connections and terminal numbers down on a scrap piece of paper before mounting the motor made the task much easier once the motor is mounted. As always, YouTube for video instructions makes getting the belt back on easier.

I used this to replace the motor on a 1995 Maytag model DG8000 gas dryer. The original motor part number was 3-3358-7. The original model number was S58NXEET-4784. The old motor would start up then stop well before the cycle would finish. It would not respond to the start button immediately after but would in a couple of hours. It was classic overheating. This motor fit perfectly. The wiring table in the provided instructions were spot on for my dryer model and left no ambiguity for which colored wires were to be connected to which leads on the new motor.

The old pulley was fastened on really tight. I ended up inserting the long end of a 3/16 Allen wrench into the nut and fit a 12 inch monkey wrench on the short end to give me enough torque to loosen it. Remember righty tighty, lefty loosey.

You might want to get a dryer vent cleaning kit and flush out your vents of built up lint while you're at it. I got the kit and extra extensions (which I needed).

For less than the price of a service call, I got a new motor and belt for my old Maytag dryer. Like the other reviews mentioned, the wiring is a little different, but the motor includes instructions on how to hook it up. Two wires need the ends cut off and crimped to new smaller spade connectors.

You'll needs some tools to do the motor swap- phillips screwdriver, big regular screwdriver to get the the motor clips off, an allen wrench to remove the motor pulley and put on the new motor, 1/4 and 5/16" sockets, small snap ring pliers to remove the snap rings on either side of the blower fan, and pliers to get the spring clamp off the fan. Oh, and the wire strippers to put the crimp connectors on.

One thing I learned was that the motor can be installed without pulling the dryer out of position- you can do it all from the front. Search youtube, there was a nice video showing how to do it.

I rated this motor 5 stars because it was easy to install and the price was over $50 dollars cheaper than any other site I checked. The only issue I had was that I hooked one of the wires up wrong. I put it in the wrong spot on the motor. No big deal after I looked at the instructions and realized that it was off by one spot. It runs awesome and my dryer is like new. I did have one question about the motor when I first opened it. I thought it was the wrong motor but after looking up the motor I found out that it was a newer model that replaced the old model number.
