1 year and 1 month after purchasing this product, the unit runs but will not heat anything. It is 1 month out of warranty, and customer service at Whirlpool says there is nothing they can do. Buyer beware.

I would give it zero stars if I could. It stopped working after 7 months. Our old microwave lasted 12 years. Reviews I have read here and on several other websites don't give me much hope that the problem will be resolved successfully. Spare yourself this headache and by different brand!

I bought the stainless steel version of this unit for a vacation home. The house gets very little use and naturally the microwave didn't either. Used it to heat a cup of water last week and after three minutes the water was still cold. The digital display works, the turn-table rotates and the vent fan runs, but it doesn't heat. Again, this microwave was seldom used. It appears to be a reoccurring issue with Whirlpool. I would never buy another one of their products after reading the way they treat their customer's complaints. I'll buy a GE to replace it. I have had GE's Advantium for five years in my home and it has never failed to perform.

This is the second Whirlpool microwave we have purchased in the last 18 months. It quit heating after 38 days. I am very disappointed with Whirlpool and will not buy this brand again!

Wow! Boy do I feel lucky.. Had mine 16 mos and 22 days before it stopped heating. Buy Whirlpool again?

Same story as people below. TWELVE days out of warranty, $129 out of pocket to confirm microwave isn't working (diagnosis: 'shorted inverter'), and the Whirlpool rep says 'out of warranty means out of warranty'. WHIRLPOOL SUCKS. I only say that because we own 2 other Whirlpool appliances (stove and refrigerator) and they have issues- such as the oven and the burners can't be used at the same time. WAY too much to ask of a range- what was I thinking? And the Whirlpool refrigerator had a meltdown (literally) after 1 year of service. Need I say more?
