5.0 out of 5 stars THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER
At first I was a little skeptical about this CD. I was used to hearing Ann and Nancy play heart-wrenching songs with a whole lotta rock & roll behind it. With this CD, it's pretty much the same, except from an acoustical point of view. Who knew that it could work out so well. I'm very pleased with this album, and I'll have to admit that my two favorite songs are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great CD but lose the male vocals
If I could remove the Vegas Gene and Heavy Sedation I'd give it a 5 stars. Great to hear new music from the Wilson sisters as I've been a fan going way back to the beginning, but I don't buy their music to hear some guy doing vocals.

4.0 out of 5 stars thrilled to hear the wilson sisters' vintage sounds again, May 18, 1999

This review is from: Whirlygig (Audio CD)
I must be Ann and Nancy's biggest fan, I'm sure and the release of Whirlygig seemed like forever. This album reminds me of Heart back in the 70's with Dreamboat Annie/Magazine/Little Queen. Sand is my favorite cut, I play it on the piano everyday. Two black lambs and Elysian are also two favorites. I love these guys and they have seldom let me down. Keep doing, girls! We need you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great to have Wilson sisters' vintage sound back., May 6, 1999

I've been a HUGE fan of the Wilson sisters since Dreamboat Annie's release (I was 13) and have enjoyed their subsequent releases immensely. This album was greatly welcomed into my CD collection since The Road Home - I always eagerly await new material. Whirlygig has the sound of some of their earlier music; free and easy - like they really had fun recording it. Sand is a real gem - I play it daily on the piano; really satisfying. Thanks Ann and Nancy for coming thru again and again. See you at the Beacon!

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent entry into the Wilson canon of music., February 15, 1999

This review is from: Whirlygig (Audio CD)
When I first listened, I wasn't sure I enjoyed the CD. After listening again, I found myself enjoying most of the album. Miracle Girl, Kiss, and Sand are three standouts. Although I miss the magic of the 70's Heart, this album is an excellent continuation of Ann and Nancy's legacy. Their lyrics and harmonies are especially well done on this album. A nice addition to any Ann and Nancy collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Music for Heart fans from the Lovemongers, August 24, 2000

For any Heart fan, Whirlygig is a great opportunity to hear new music from the Wilson sisters teaming with a two new friends. Even if you are not a Heart fan, the Lovemongers provide a refreshing new sound, emphasizing the strong vocals of the Wilson sisters, along with a new sound. My two favorites from the CD are "City on the Hill" and "Kiss". A must have for any Heart or Lovemonger fan!

I have hundreds of CD I play frequenly. All I can say this is one that I come back to over and over. I love every track but I specially love City on the Hill. This is much more mainstream then most of what I listen to and am sure it will appeal to almost anyway who loves haronic music and good female vocals.

I absolutely love this CD, Nancy voice is wonderful, Ann is the greatest as always. I love the style they use and boundries they crossed. Two black lambs really comes from Anns heart. And I love city on the hill. Miracle girl is great. and No school today is my favorite. Im so glad to see all 3 women together. These ladies belong together in music. They know how to touch our hearts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Different name, same faces, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Whirlygig (Audio CD)
"The Lovemongers" is an alias for Ann and Nancy Wilson and selected friends ... aka "Heart." The music differs from recent Heart efforts, however, in that it's clearly a return to their roots and simplier times. Less "rawk" (as the Wilson's might put it) and more personal. Fans of the late 70's era Heart will definitely enjoy this disc.

The Wilson Sisters, take their talent and use it without all the band pressures and pop scene hype, and come up with a winner. Long waited to hear them do something with "HEART" and they did....
