Fabulous,

This review is from: A Whisper of Danger: Treasures of the Heart #2 (HeartQuest) (Paperback)
This is the second book in Catherine Palmer's 'Treasure of the Heart' series. After meeting the Thornton family in the first book, Palmer moves on to tell the story of Jessica Thornton and her son Splinter. After having inherited a house on Zanaibar, Jessica moves there from England looking for a better life for her and her son. There she meets her long-lost husband and sparks fly.One of the best features of this book is that some chapters are written from Splinter's point of view. These prove to be REALLY funny as he views situations in a much different way to his mother. I don't think that this book is as good as the first book. It took me awhile to get into this book and some of the characters were not developed as much as I would have liked them to be. Catherine Palmer is my favourite christian writer and I would recommend any of her books.

Catherine Palmer has done it again! Another great tale of romance and suspense in Africa. I especially love the way she shows that the love of God can overcome any obstacle, even unforgiveness.

This book, like the others in this series, is set in Africa. The author packs it full of history and details current to their culture today. The romance is touching and exciting. A beautiful read!

Catherine Palmer is turning out to be one of my favorite authors of all time and the fact, that she is a Christian author, is awesome. This is a wonderful book with 2 separate plots going on---the journey to forgiveness and lives that have been changed through Christ, and the subplot of the murder of her professor being solved. Absolutely loved how Rick sought God's help in winning Jessie back. Being able to see Splinter and Rick unite as son and father was sweet. And even after a 10 yr. separation of years full of bitterness, it was awesome to see that forgiveness was able to "cover" Jessie's bitterness and replace it with love. I definitely recommend this book to those who already love Mrs. Palmer's books or to those first trying out her books. Great job again!

Fast moving and well written,
This review is from: A Whisper of Danger (Treasures of the Heart Series #2) (Paperback)
All three books in this series by Catherine Palmer are fun to read with Africa as an interesting setting. She describes the land so well it is the unspoken character in the books. The human characters each struggle in realistic ways to surrender their wills and faults to Christ. I really enjoyed this series and would recommend it. A Touch of Betrayal (Treasures of the Heart Series #3)A Kiss of Adventure (Treasures of the Heart Series #1) it.

There was so much bitterness in Jessie, I almost put the book down and walked away. I'm so glad I didn't though! Different pace from the first book, but still excellent!!!

I grew up in Kenya (just as Catherine Palmer did), and so reading this book was like reading about home. I nearly cried in some parts! While this book is not as adventurous and fast-paced as "A Kiss of Adventure", the plot is much more believable and easier to follow. The story of Jessica and Rick is absolutely beautiful, and extremely well-written. Likewise, I was very impressed with the writing in the parts from Spencer's point of view.
This is one of the best Palmer books I've ever read, and I would highly recommend it. You can tell that her knowledge of African ways comes from experience, and not research, and it makes the book so much more enjoyable. A must-read!

Wonderful Love Story!,

I could absolutely not put this book down! It is sooo good. I loved how Catherine Palmer wove the story together gracefully. Nothing dull at all. Nothing inapropriatte in the least which is hard to find any more! The Treasures of the Heart series doesn't have to be read in order at all, and I think this is the best one to start with. You will not be disapointed!!!!!
