3.0 out of 5 stars Good Enough for Me!
This was the first paranormal romance I have ever read, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I love vampres though, and Dominic turned out to be everything I had imagined a vampire to be. He was seductive, lonely, and powerful. However, since it was set in present day, I would have been creeped out by him if I was Tracy. He was too foward, too soon, and spoke...

5.0 out of 5 stars combines a reincarnation tale with a vampire romance, February 1, 2004
This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
Landscape and seascape artist Tracy Warner is not sure why she felt obsessed to buy Nightingale House overlooking the Pacific near Sea Cliff, California. However, she does purchase the old home that has been empty for five years. However, she is unaware that another house resides underneath hers. That abode belongs to two millennium year old vampire Dominic St. John who is shocked to realize that the woman above is his soul mate. He prays that this time she accepts his gift of eternity together because for the first time she has come to him.

As Dominic and Tracy start seeing each other, she finds herself attracted and repelled by him. However, she also sees another person, full blooded human Bryon Longstreet. Dominic is jealous and Kitana, the woman who converted him all those centuries ago, has come to claim him as she once did. Kitana will do anything to have him including killing the current reincarnation of his soul mate.

A WHISPER OF ETERNITY combines a reincarnation tale with a vampire romance that fans will enjoy due to a strong lead couple and a fine supporting duo. Though at times Dominic's dominant alpha personality (what do you expect of a vampire - sensitivity?) becomes overbearing, paranormal readers will appreciate the heroine's ability to keep him in line and his need to risk all to keep her safe.

4.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT READ, January 24, 2004

This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
HE WILL NOT LOSE HER AGAIN
WHEN artist TRACY WARNER purchases the rambling seaside house built above DOMINIC ST. JOHN'S hidden lair,he recognizes in her spirit the woman he has loved countless times over the centuries.
Drawing her into the fascinating, seductive world of the vampire,he aches to believe that this time she will not refuse his Dark Gift.
But when Dominic's ancient rival appears in Sea Cliff, hungry for territory and power,Tracy becomes a pawn in a deadly game.
To save her - and the passion that burns between them-
Dominic must offer....
A WHISPER OF ETERNITY.

Okay, i told you whats on the back of the book, now i'll tell you what i think,i liked the book well enogh but it didn't grip
me as her other vampire novels, the hero loved this woman for centuries and everytime they meet again, she dies before he can bring her across.
I wanted to shout at this woman to get a clue,i just didn't feel the love and their was just not enough chemistry between them.
its a good read but its just not up to par with her other novels, where you can feel the story come alive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Obvious Rushed ending, November 8, 2005
This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
So this was my first ever vampire romance novel and let's just say it left a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth (no pun intended).
At the beginning I was excited as the plot started to unfold but then it became a bit tiring.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Dominic, he was strong, sensual and intelligent, everything I would expect a vampire to be. I just couldn't understand his love for Tracy.
She knew her feelings for him but still kept on denying him the one thing he wanted and had waited for for centuries and then at the end when he changed her, without her permission, she accepted it with no major blow up. When that happened I was like huh? I mean she had freaked out more when Bryan was changed than when she was.
And could there not have been a more romantic place to have a honeymoon than Caesar's Palace? He's a vampire that has travelled the world over hundreds of times. I mean come on...Morocco, Switzerland, Greece?
And the fact that Kitana decided to marry Bryan made me think that Ashley just wanted to wrap up everything too tidily.
I'm not a person to drop an author after one book so I will give her a try once more.

I like the book. To think ladies, a man so in love with you to follow you throughout time just to be with you. Very touching.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Enough for Me!, July 19, 2005
This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
This was the first paranormal romance I have ever read, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I love vampres though, and Dominic turned out to be everything I had imagined a vampire to be. He was seductive, lonely, and powerful. However, since it was set in present day, I would have been creeped out by him if I was Tracy. He was too foward, too soon, and spoke strangely. And there is no way that end would have happened in reality. Throughout the entire book she acted one way, and at the very end she switched completely! And that whole thing between her and Bryan was too weird for me. Half of the book was difficult to get through, but the rest I couldn't put down. After all was said and done, I loved the ending.

1.0 out of 5 stars Quick! Save your money!, February 13, 2004

This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
I gave this book one star because there is not an option for zero stars. Actually, this one would go into the negatives for me. The only thing that forced me to finish it was the fact that it was SO bad, it was funny. From the synopsis on the back of the book, you'd think there'd be a plot. Sorry. No plot. The characters are characatures at best. No one is interesting or believable. The book seemed an excuse for the author to talk about how much she loves "The Phantom of the Opera" musical and Caesars Palace in Vegas. The epilogue is a one and a half page wrap-up that lets you know everyone lived happily ever after. I wouldn't recommend this one to anybody. I can't believe it was actually published. I feel like writing to the author and the publisher to ask for my $6.50 back.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, February 6, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
I was disappointed in the book. The plot was predictable and sometimes unbelieveable. Throughtout the book the main characterter resisted being turned into a vampire and yet she wasn't angry when it happened to her or her friend. This book could have been a lot better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful romantic vampire tale, June 12, 2008
This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't understand the low reviews for this book. I am a big Amanda Ashley fan and I have never read a story by her that I didn't thoroughly enjoy and A Whisper of Eternity was no exception. Dominic and Tracy were wonderful together and I really loved the idea of the true soul mate. Theirs was a love that had gone on throughout time with him losing her then finding her again only to lose her once more and his determination not to lose her this time, I found it all very romantic. Add to that the evil vampire Kitana who wants Dominic for herself and you have a very entertaining read!

1.0 out of 5 stars Eternally forgettable, July 5, 2005
By
This review is from: A Whisper Of Eternity (Mass Market Paperback)
The vampire seeking through eternity for his reincarnated lover was an interesting concept but it's application here just didn't hold up to it's promise. I slogged through it till the end but now feel I shouldn't have bothered as I can barely remember any of the so-called plot even though I just recently finished reading it. The epilogue was the kind of improbable "all tied up in pink bows" ending that just makes a person want to grind their teeth together. I wish I'd read some of the reviews here before I put my money out. Take a pass on this one.

This is hands down my favorite book. I love it so much Ive read it far too many times too count and i still had to order another copy.
The book came on time, perfectly wrapped in plastic and still held all the old magic from my pre-teens (age I first read it)
