5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth, soothing 98 Degrees Style Music...
A well done effort by Jeff. Songs are mostly in the original 98 Degrees style. The 'Be the One' track with Jim Brickman stands out to me as exceptional. I certainly hope that Jeff and the rest of the guys from 98 Degrees get back together and produce at least one final album... they each sound their very best when heard in unison.

1.0 out of 5 stars Jeff is hot but this is not
Jeff seems like a nice guy, and he's got a handsome face, hot body, and sexy tattoo...but this debut album is really, really bad - his flat, nasal vocals are so thin they literally evaporate while you attempt to listen to each leaden, plodding song. Try Nick Lachey's solo CDs instead for the true sound of 98 Degrees.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jeff Timmons can WHISPER THAT WAY ..., October 1, 2004
This review is from: Whisper That Way (Audio CD)
Talk about an amazing solo effort! I own three different versions of this album - the "original" in which has no bonus tracks and is a 'rough cut' of the second version. The second version is a more polished version and includes two bonus tracks, "Angel Eyes (Soul Remix)" and "Better Days (Matrix Mello Remix)". Songs to listen for on this second version: "Favorite Star", "Whisper That Way" (HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SONG), "Angel Eyes" (the remixed version is the better of the two), "Rainbow", "Thinking of You" (written for his daughter), "Be The One" (w/Jim Brickman) and "Baby J" (written for his son....and will bring anyone to tears!).

This version of the album is the same except it includes a song that wasn't on the previous album. It replaces the "Angel Eyes" remix and is entitled "Over And Over". Again, another wonderfully written song! :)

I highly...HIGHLY recommend this album to/for anyone! :) Wonderfully written and produced, Jeff Timmons is a one artist that will be around for quite some time! KUDOS JEFFREY! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Breakout 1st album, September 7, 2004

With a mixure of pop, jazz r&b, motown, and, yes, even lullubies, Jeff Timmons presents a mature sound above & beyond 98 Degrees. Listen to Baby J, Whisper That Way, Rainbow, Angel Eyes, & Better Days. His voice soars to new heights while blending with an assortment of musical types. It isn't the best I've ever heard from Jeff Timmons - he was incredible when solo at the Jim Brickman Holiday concert winter '03 - but the CD is worth the money. I find myself humming along with Better Days, I know Baby J by heart and have cracked my voice on Whisper That Way. Some songs I tap my toes to, others I will admit I ignore but compared with 85% of the new stuff on the market, it is wonderful to get an album clean, smart, and with something for everyone. Good work, Jeff. I will be looking forward to your second album while I continue to enjoy this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Cut Out For Solo Career, October 6, 2004
By
This review is from: Whisper That Way (Audio CD)
I've always been a fan of 98 degrees, and if Jeff's voice within the group. i think he brought an essential touch to their sound. but i have to admit, i'm very disappointed with this album. i still think he has a lovely voice, but i do think it's meant to used in a group setting. I dont think he has what it takes to have a solo career, especially not based on this album. some of the songs are lovely, and i'd listen to over and over, but the rest.... just.. not very good at all. not even catchy for the most part... I just think he could have done better, with better material to work with. And i think he does work best in harmony with others. .... just this "twenty-bopper"'s opinion.

Not bad for a break-out CD trying to kick start a solo career. The music is standard 98 Degrees fare, but the real treat here lies in the pictures.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice To Look At But No Voice, February 1, 2005
This review is from: Whisper That Way (Audio CD)
I used to enjoy listening to 98 Degrees back in their heyday and always thought Nick and Jeff were great (vocally) together, Sadly Jeff's solo endeavor is so bad that it was released twice and with the same resounding thud. The songs are uninspiring and he clearly needs to find a new style. Of course I hope that he does not go the way of JC Chasez's Schizophrenic mess. I think Jeff has a pleasant voice but he needs to probably use those good looks for modeling or acting. Sorry Jeff!

1.0 out of 5 stars I'm a huge 98 Degree fan and this was TERRIBLE!, October 26, 2004
This review is from: Whisper That Way (Audio CD)
I'm sorry to say but this album was terrible. I was so excited to find out about Jeff Timmons solo cd since I was always a fan of 98 Degrees. I really thought this cd would be good. It's not. His voice is thin and limited and he falls flat on a lot of the songs. the songs are boring boring boring. There is not one song on here that I could recommend listening too. The ballads almost put me to sleep and the uptempo songs are plagued with cheesy production. Go back and listen to your 98 Degrees albums, or even go listen to Nick Lacheys not nearly as dreadful album. I wish I could find something nice to say about this album, but it really was terrible.
