This is a great story about an alien who grows up in a human environment. If you are looking for SF that is more space travel oriented, try the author's Cloudships of Orion series. This is more about people seeking First Contact and an alien trying to cope with the strangeness of human behavior. LOTS of interesting group dynamics stuff. If you like reading SF with believable characters, then this is a must read!
