Profyle is a must getter. I saw this in the store, but I had never heard of them. I bought it anyway. When I got home I didn't open it right away because I was thinking of taking it back. Finally, I was cleaning up my house and I decided to go ahead and open it up. MAN! I mean WHOO! This CD is bad! I called my sister to let her listen to it and then went out and bought it for her, my cousin and my dad. "Make sure your home" got me through Christmas and all the other songs get me through everyday. You can listen to this CD rain or shine. In any kind of mood. It is definately the CD of the year!

IN THIS ERA OF BORED BALLADS AND REPETITIVE BEATS, I FOUND THIS PEARL , WITHOUT DOUBT , THE BEST CD OF THE YEAR . IN SPITE OF ONE OR TWO MEDIOCRE BALLADS , THE REST IT'S REALLY THE BOMB . "JUST CAN'T GET YOU OFF MY MIND" AND "MAKE SURE YOU'RE HOME" ARE A INCREDIBLE SLOW & SMOOTH SONGS , AND "I AIN'T THE ONE" IS THE FUNK SIDE OF A TREMENDOUS CD . LONG LIVE KEDAR AND ALL HIS FAMILY .

5.0 out of 5 stars SURPRISE CD OF THE YEAR, August 24, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Whispers in the Dark (Audio CD)
I was browsing the R&B section of the record store, and saw this cd and thought..hmm who are these guys? I stood there for a few minutes debating on if I should get it or not, even though I hadn't heard of them. Then I decided what the heck, I had purposely bought cd's of artists I liked and ended up not being too impressed, so why not take a risk. WOW what a great CD! I listened to it, and I kept it in my car for months playing it over and over! I love "Cry no More", they're remake of "Overjoyed" and "I ain't the one". I love so many more, but this is a cd any true r&b fan should give a listen because they had the best album out and I'm glad I took a chance!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Got What You Need, October 1, 1999

If you love good music, get up right now, get in your car and go pick this one up. Wanna bob your head to the beat, snap your fingers, move your body? Check out either or both versions of "I Ain't the One" and "Just Can't Get You Off my Mind." Wanna chill with your man (woman) with the candles lit, sippin' on some good wine? Or you wanna get your romance on with something slow and creamy playing in the background? "Whispers in the Dark," "Kick it Tonight" and "Make Sure You're Home" easily fill the bill. Whatever you're looking for, once you slip Profyle in the player, I guarantee you're gonna get everything you need. And while you're letting the beats flow over you, listen to what these brothas are saying. For every woman who wants to hit on her man's best boy, "I Ain't The One" is tellin' you why you're wastin' your time. And for all you "regular guys" like the one in "Just Can't Get You Off My Mind," let me tell you fellas, a lot of ladies are searching hard for somebody just like you. I can't say enough about these boys and their CD. Face, Hershey, L Jai and Baby Boy, I thank God for you and the talent he has blessed you with. This is one fan who will be waiting anxiously for your next effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best R&B CDs, November 28, 2006

Normally I don't buy CDs from a singer or group that I've never seen or heard of before. I found this CD while I was browsing through other CDs of the same genre and decided to get it. It was definitely worth it!! These guys have such good vocal range and I really like the way they sing. With some CDs you have to listen to the songs over and over again to get into it, but not with this one. It's definitely worth getting!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantabulous CD!!! A MUST BUY!!!, August 12, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Whispers in the Dark (Audio CD)
know music, been writing music for years now. Music is my life; I also write music professionally.

So here is The Run Down:
I've known of Profyle for a long time coming now from the songs:
*Every Little Thing
*(Can We) M.A.K.E. L.U.V.
*I Wont Cry
*Overjoyed

So I bought both their cds and was more than impressed! Some people are saying "change the lead singer" those people just dont get it, so let me enlighten you a little.
They wanted a more rough lead singer, it adds bass, monotone, yet quality and a soothing touch. They are an awesome group. Buy the Cd PERIOD!

JUST BUY THE DAMN CD ITS AWESOME!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Debut....Seriously Overlooked!!, August 4, 2004
By
This review is from: Whispers in the Dark (Audio CD)
Profyle came at a time when the R&B scene was flooded with male groups, some that are still here and some that are easily forgotten and could be a subject for "Where Are They Now?" Nonetheless, these guys put out an album that was seriously overlooked.

I initially saw the video for "I Ain't the One" and I thought, 'look at these guys biting off of Boyz II Men's "Pass You By" video'. I was like, oh Lord, they aren't going to do anything and their album will go plastic. Never judge a book by its cover though! After checking them out on Soul Train performing (lip-synching, really, as all Soul Train guests do) "Just Can't Get You Off My Mind", I had to pick up the album; I'm glad I did.

Profyle delivers with some nice lil' uptempo tracks that will leave your head bobbing. Check out "Too Shady" featuring a seriously overlooked female MC Cha Cha. She spits with some furor on a song that Profyle delivers well. "Somebody Like Me" has a hook and a chorus that is sick! It's terribly infectious and will have you headbanging in the club. lol. "I Ain't the One" is alright....it takes a few listens before it gets you moving.

As with all R&B quartets, Profyle has their share of ballads. but unlike most of their counterparts, they deliver well when it comes to the ballads. They croon something serious on the catchy "Lady", which is probably the strongest song vocally, showing off their church-bred vocals. Also worth mentioning is the classic Stevie Wonder song "Overjoyed". I heard these fellas sing this acappella and I mean, I was blown away. Their remake is probably one of the best I have heard. The title track "Whispers In the Dark" is quite charming. It's sexy but not too spicy and flows efforltessly without falter. Definitely check out the song "Make Sure You're Home", which features then-labelmate Joe in a lovely performance. The song's theme is Christmas, but the song can be enjoyed all throughout the year. And the aforementioned "Just Can't Get You Off My Mind" is a classic within itself, with it's powerful leads and strong production.

There are a couple of stinks on this album. We didn't need two versions of "I Ain't the One", the later one featuring a less-than-impressive rap cameo by Juvenile, who shouldn't've been so weak considering he was tight at the time. Also, some of the songs are just hard to get into even after listening to them more than once. "Kick It Tonight" is just blah, "Don't Be Trippin'" is just garbage, and "Can't Let Go" is uninspiring. Also, a good listen to this album will make you sick of lead singer L Jai's vocals. I mean, he has a good voice, it's just that I was looking forward to hearing more of the other members' voices and not continually hearing L Jai's whining.

Altogether, this album has something for everyone and could definitely be included in a collection. Check it out; it's worth a try!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dam This Is Good!!!!!!!!!, February 14, 2001

After hearing the song 'make sure your home' on the radio I decided to check out some of their other songs from the album 'WHISPERS IN THE DARK' ... and after hearing songs like 'Whispers In The Dark', 'Make Sure Your Home' and 'Too Shady' I knew I had to go and get this album. Now Profyle is on top of my favourite RnB groups in front of such groups as Jagged Edge and 112. With their smoove silky vocals and some of the best slow jam songs and RnB grooves I ever heard, I put it on while making love with my girl and now she loves them too. Good news for all the Aussie RnB lovers in Sydney I heard on GrooveFM( Syd ) that Profyle will be coming to OZ in 2001, so get out there and check these guys out and now I can't wait to check out their other album 'NOTHIN' BUT DRAMA'.
