In truth, there is always beauty and grace,
By Carole Spring (Anaheim, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whispers ~: The Often Subtle Sometimes Rowdy Voice Of Truth (Paperback)
In this latest writing by Camille Olivia Strate, the readers of her many articles and blogs will find a treasure that unfolds in story after loving story exactly as if she were sitting beside you sharing them herself. With considerable wit and wisdom, she has managed to invite all of us to find the ways to listen to our own hearts and to heed their beckonings to a fuller life. Far from a self-help book, this little book is a keeper you will want to reread many times over simply because such honesty feels good, something to prize and tell all your friends about. Be aware, you will love this. Hug close those you call friends as it will prompt in you all that is good as you share and radiate your own truths.

When Whispers Are Loud,
By Tony Brussat (Ashland, Oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whispers ~: The Often Subtle Sometimes Rowdy Voice Of Truth (Paperback)
Camille Strate's book, "Whispers," arrived with the mail and was absorbed in a good read outside on the deck as the breezes softly rustled and the Sun played hide and seek with the clouds. Each story in "Whispers" rustled, too, in my imagination; and Strate's wit and wisdom, like the Sun and clouds, kept my heart beaming. What is more, Strate's words continue to whisper in my thoughts, while her inspiration grows loud upon the conscience. Listen. Live. And start with Camille's book...

Amazing Work of Grace,
By
This review is from: Whispers ~: The Often Subtle Sometimes Rowdy Voice Of Truth (Paperback)
The author, Camille Olivia Strate, describes her work as a "little book." And, if you go by word count and number of pages, "Whispers" might well be described as little. However, if you think in terms of meaning and depth, this book is a giant among a sea of self-help renderings that cannot compare.
Words like "brilliant," "profound," and "deeply moving" fall short of the mark when it comes to describing this book. In simple, truthful tales, Strate shares her connection to lost loved ones and the universal sprit the resides within each of our souls. By the end of the book, I was sobbing with joy and recognition of my own higher self, how I've neglected her so many times, and how I desperately want to change that. I came away with a renewed sense of gratitude and love for the world around me and the people and relationships I treasure. When you read this amazing work of grace, you will too. Strate's stories in her little book, "Whispers" will change you life.

Living Life Well,
This review is from: Whispers ~: The Often Subtle Sometimes Rowdy Voice Of Truth (Paperback)
One must never, ever judge a book by its cover or by how thick or thin it is. This is particularly true for Camille Olivia Strate's new book titled, "Whispers." Just observing the charming and inviting front cover of the book, you might imagine that this is a quick and easy read and that devouring the entire volume might be done over a lunch break. You might be able to read it on your lunch break, but I could not have done it on mine. There were problems, you see. The author neglected to post a "Tissue Alert" in the front of the book, so I had to put down the book, hunt for a tissue box, dab at my eyes and find my place again. These things take time! Another factor: There was all the time I spent just laughing out loud! I chose to read this book while I was home alone-sans adult supervision-and no doubt the neighbors, who were off at work, could hear me cackling and guffawing my way through the sweetly illustrated pages. Ms Strate writes with candor about her own quantum life experiences. While I have not shared many of her life's events, I could certainly relate with her highs and lows. She has a way of expressing introspection and her epiphanies without seeming egocentric and narcissistic. Camille Olivia Strate might well consider teaming up with the late night television comics, for her material lends itself to the one-line humor often utilized there. For example, even her FOOTNOTES are humorous. I do not recall ever being amused by any other author's footnotes! The magic that has presented itself in Camille Olivia Strate's life is mysterious and delicious! It inspired me to reflect on the joy and mysteries of my own life! "Whispers" is not a book that will be read and soon forgotten. As readers are immersed in the accounts Ms. Strate so vividly shares, they will be uplifted and inspired to order copies of the book for friends or coworkers; they will want relatives or neighbors to have their very own copy because there is a keen understanding that others will resonate with what this author so openly shares. |
