5.0 out of 5 stars Whistler Intellicord
A great accessory for Whistler detectors. Keeps you from having to try to reach the windshield to turn the detector on or dim it while rolling. This really should be considered a necessity rather than an option.

2.0 out of 5 stars An expensive Power Cord
The grand Intellicord!! Turns out not to be that Intelligent after all!!

So what's in the box, so to speak:

1- You get a lighter plug that has two L.E.D's (one to indicate power, and one to indicate the radar is turned on) it also has a single button to control two separate controls on the Radar Detectors (S1 and S2), I have yet to master how to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy gadget, September 6, 2010

I bought this because I needed a straight, non coiled cord for my Whistler radar detector and discovered I like the features. It is very handy to have the power switch on the lighter plug.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cord, perfect companion to the radar detector., March 16, 2011

This review is from: Whistler Intellicord Powercord (Electronics)
I bought this cord even though the cord that came with the radar detector (Whistler Pro78) was still fully functional. The reason being I hated having to reach up to change the mode and or mute/un-mute the radar detector white driving (depending on what type of car you have, and where the radar detector is mounted, this could be a long reach). Plus, I drive a manual car, so I'd rather have my hand down near the shifter than having to reach up.

The wire on the intellicord is a straight wire, not one of those that curl up - some people like it, some don't. I prefer this as I can tuck and hide the wire away easier.

The cord does what it's supposed to, you can program what the function of the button does (through the menu's on the radar detector unit) I currently have it programmed to:

Short press: Mute/Unmute the radar - I like having this feature because I don't want to hear the alert the entire time as I'm driving by a radar source that I can see (ie.. a state trooper on the highway)
Long press: change modes (city, to highway ect)

I've had this intellicord now for over a year and have had no issues with it.

Highly recommended for anyone owning a compatible whistler radar detector.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whistler Charging Cord, October 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Whistler Intellicord Powercord (Electronics)
This cord was designed to work with the models that will allow the cord to control certain features of the radar detector. Unfortunately I did not catch that info correctly when I ordered the cord, my model Whistler is not one of them. HOWEVER, it works perfectly as a cigaret lighter charging cord which is what I use it for. Like many others it is fused in case of a car electrical system failure or in the event that your Whistler Radar Detector gives way to some freak electrical accident. The price was better than most places, delivery communication was good, and it got here in a normal amount of time.

Very fast shipment...Cord serves as an excellent replacement for the one I mangled..Does not operate the NOAA emergency weather feature as I hoped, but great for my older model radar detector.

The grand Intellicord!! Turns out not to be that Intelligent after all!!

So what's in the box, so to speak:

1- You get a lighter plug that has two L.E.D's (one to indicate power, and one to indicate the radar is turned on) it also has a single button to control two separate controls on the Radar Detectors (S1 and S2), I have yet to master how to engage the second stack (S2).
2- Each time you press the button, you can step thru pre-lined up options like Auto-quite, dark mode etc. that you have to choose when you configure the radar detector. However I only get auto quite.
3- It doesn't really come with any meaningful instructions, so you have to go by what comes with the radar detector which it isn't much!
4- I expected this to be similar to the Escort Intellicord, where it has an extra speaker and real controls and a concealed radar led. (NOP)
5- So, you get the option to power the radar from Remote, and maybe control the quite feature. That's all that I got off of it.
Is it worth $15~$20 you decide?

5.0 out of 5 stars Power station, September 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The power station for the Whistler radar detector works great. It is a real advantage to be able to stop power when near an area that causes noise in the radar detector such as a bank, store, etc.
