Bought this for my husband for Christmas as his old one had died. Thought it would be a great unit, but when asking him, he had several complaints. Seems with our vehicle being cold when you get in, it takes awhile for the unit to "warm up" and turn on. When it goes off when passing something (radar, electronic doors, etc.), it takes a few minutes of it not working before the light comes back on (the "H" for highway, etc.). Not sure what causes this, but it's annoying, as, by then, we could have passed another police car with radar. We'll be contacting the company about this.

I got another brand of detector as a gift and used it only 3 weeks before ordering this Whistler for myself. After the old one turned out to be a SNAKE and told me AFTER I saw the cop. Anyway, this Whistler XTR-330 does the job for me. If you don't like the flashing lights and voice messages all the time, you can turn all that off. Read the book. Now this is the quietest detector I've ever had, It tells me what band then shuts up and turns off. No blinking lights to tell the world you have a detector. Does a great job.

I have had different Manufacturers of Radars but by far this has been the best. Easy to use, Very good display of Signals, and the voice is loud enough to get your attention. I would buy another of this model if the need arises.

I have never had a radar detector beffore but, I just got my whistler and I hooked it up. It took less than 5 minutes literally. Then I was off to the YMCA and going down a hill in my area, Boom! beeping, blinking, voice alert it was great! And then... no cop... all the way down the mile long hill. I thought maybe it was just X band waves bouncing around but nope, it said "Ka" so I got to the bottom of the hill and sitting in the parking lot right at the bottom was a cop pointing a radar at the road. HECK YES! Good range, I always speed down that hill to save my breaks a little and this thing just saved me. Definately a good buy for the money.d

I loved my old whistler until it died so I bought this new Whistler XTR-330 and love it so much that I ordered 2 more. I like the blue LEDs they can catch your attention quick.

I am not 1 for long reviews so will keep it short

This thing has saved me from 3 tickets now, has about 1 mile roughly of detection (1 of tickets saved by the detector was a good mile or more down the road)
it does pick up the automatic door openers on Highway mode, change to City and then its almost only actual radar guns also it picks up other crap detectors that do not have leak protection (as you drive past someone it will go off at a 2 to 3 sig strength then stop lol)
it is sensitive enough to alert to signals around a corner ahead which is a good plus

The Laser detector is perfect, works great, 1 suggestion i do have is mount the device near the bottom of your windshield in the center since Laser gun fields are only a foot or 2 by the time it hits you car and its pointed at your bumper so having up top it will not pick it up, also if you are hit by laser... as the instruction manual says (LOL) "you will not be able to stop in time since it gets a reading in just over 1-2 seconds, when the alert sounds adjust your driving... change lanes :)

overall i am happy, it has made its money back and works like a charm - great buy for the money, always loved Whistler

1 more time - mount it near the bottom of the windshield in the center for the best detection.

Works pretty well for X, K, and Ka, but I got a ticket from a laser trap and it didn't make a sound.

This was bought for a gift. After careful research on radar detectors in
general, we found that this one was the best for a gift we wanted to give. That person has been happy with our decision.

wonderful product for price, it talks to you, has blue led lights, pop mode really works because i compared four detectors, this had the best pop mode detection
