Whistler's Venice, September 1, 2007
This review is from: Whistler's Venice (Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in Britis) (Hardcover)
it is a really beautiful book, it contains the pastels and the etchings that made Whistler in Venice, next to the photographies of the site real. the illustrations are gorgeous, of quality, as they are used to being the books of Yale. VERY BUENO

Whistler's Venice: Excellent!, February 17, 2009
This review is from: Whistler's Venice (Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in Britis) (Hardcover)
This is a really wonderful book and very helpful for everyone who knows and loves Venice. I discovered Whistler for me at the exhibition "VENICE. From Canaletto and Turner to Monet" at Basle and are very happy to having found this book. Whistler used the right technique. Chalk and pastel on brown paper: the ideal material for that fascinating and morbid city. Also the etchings are excellent. The book is designed with great love and the idea to replenish Whistler's works with contemporary photos is brilliant. I love this book and would like to thank the authors for their outstanding work.
