5.0 out of 5 stars One of Leon's best recording!
Leon's singing style on this CD is straight without the wacky stuff he does on his earlier recordings (although I like that style too). His best songs are those that he wrote and "Dancin' On Daddy's Shoes" is the best. His duets with Ringo Starr and Merle Haggard are a nice touch. The arrangement of instruments with each song is different and refreshing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just whistled in the wind..
Leon was great as usual, however, the audio was not that great, seemed a little scratchy. And trust me I checked my unit that I used to listen on, and it was O.K. Didn't give any problems on any other of my C.D.'s. All of the C.D."s I ordered, fell in the same category.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Redbone Classic, November 22, 2008

I gave this album 5 stars. But that is relative to Leon Redbone's music. If you like Redbone, I'm sure you will like this. The sonic quality of my CD is fine. I noticed that one reviewer was a bit unsatisfied. Hard to explain what might be behind that with a digital recording. However, at 53, it could be that I just don't hear things anymore!

I love Leon Redbone, I hear in his songs all of those old cartoons I grew up on. He sings songs that are classic and should not be forgotten. These songs make me happy when I hear them.

Leon Redbone is in usual fine form on this recording. The songs are melodic and infused with a wonderful sense of humour.

4.0 out of 5 stars Leon Redbone: Steve Martin alter-ego, October 31, 2009
This review is from: Whistling in the Wind (Reis) (Audio CD)
This is a good album. Did you know that Leon Redbone and Steve Martin both appeared on Johnny Carson on the same night? But not together. Hmmmm! Also, they both appeared in the first season of Saturday Night Live, which is, I think, the last time I ever saw Steve play the banjo. Anyway, I'm buying Steve's newly released banjo CD to see how he sounds when he performs as himself.
(I believe I'm right on this correlation, and I believe I am the first to have published this conclusion on the net, having done so several years ago.)
