I bought these DUAL LU53PW speakers a couple of years ago from one of the big box stores without even listening to them because I just wanted something inexpensive that I could hang outside by the patio. The first thing that I noticed was the weight of the box as I was walking out of the store. I thought it was a little strange that "cheap" speakers could weigh so much.

As I was hooking them up, I wasn't expecting much since I paid about fifty bucks for the pair. When I fired up the receiver and put in a CD I was very impressed. These speakers have it all..... Great bass, mids and highs are all clear and crisp with plenty of power too. Before you spend $300.00 on up for a pair of indoor / outdoor speakers, you really should give these speakers a try.

It seems most people are in agreement, for the money these are an excellent set of speakers. They are very well built and solid. I really like the choice of screwdown terminal holders instead of the spring type. On another set of Cambridge speakers I have had to solder the speaker wire directly to the contact because the spring broke. You won't go wrong with these speakers!

These speakers are a wonderful value for the asking price. No, you are not going to be fooled into thinking you are listening to Martin Logans, Magneplanars, Thiels, etc. However, speakers like the Duals will normally be connected to inexpensive amplification such as low priced intergrated amplifiers or receivers. I purchased two pairs. One is connected to a Sherwood receiver, while the other pair is hooked up to a KLH receiver. Both of these receivers were under $100, yet the music reporduction on my patio and master bedroom balcony is quite impressive. These speakers weigh 5 pounds each, so there is some heft to them. I do not engage in "critical" listening with these speakers for obvious reasons, but to comment on their actual sound characteristics; the bass response is honest to about the 75HZ and then it falls off rapidly. Midrange reproduction is fine. The treble can be a bit "tinny," but when one considers the price per pair the music that emanates from these speakers is more than acceptable. Recommended.

Even though these are made by Dual, a recognized quality manufacturer, the packaging seemed a bit flimsy for the product and surprisingly the speakers took no damage from shipping. As someone else mentioned, the "heft" of the speakers was a pleasant surprise, which generally means better quality / larger magnets, for speakers.

Installation is very easy, mounting a breeze, allowing a great deal of horizontal adjustment while mounted. There is no vertical adjustment however, so pick your location with care.

The sound is crisp, and volume quite a bit higher than standard bookshelf speakers hooked to the same receiver. Unfortunately the bass is somewhat disappointing even though I have mine mounted in corners.

Overall good bang for the buck, you will probably be hard pressed to get better at this price.

These speakers are awesome. Right when we got these we pulled them out of the box. First we noticed the weight of the speakers, you could tell that they were made really well. We hooked them up and they sounded great we put these speakers on our deck out by the pool and have a little mini amp hooked up to them. The sound is great just perfect for our set up and the bass is better than we expected We are very happy with this purchase and the shipping was really fast.

I've had these speakers installed outside for approximately one month now and I'm constantly impressed with them. They were a breeze to mount (simply mounted with an anchor onto concrete wall). They have a great tonal range, with deep bass and crisp highs. I am a musician and a complete music fanatic and was a little worried about going with a budget speaker and these have absolutely delivered. The positive reviews swayed me and I'm glad they did.

My back yard is about 3200 square feet and the they have no problem completely filling that area with sound (They're mounted 3 feet off the ground).

Honestly, I can not imagine how more expensive speakers could provide more enjoyment than these. These speakers are really an anomaly to me, as you typically get what you pay for with speakers and budget speakers generally sound thin, overdrive easily, and have poor workmanship. On all these accounts, these speakers deliver.

Bought these speakers for my out door pool deck . and was concerned the sound would not be great. Hook them up and they sound awsome . great bass and highs . could not be any happy with them . did a lot of research and trust me for the price they can not be beat . 5 stars

These speakers are worth far more than the price. They sound excellent at both low and high volume levels. If they had a designer speaker name on them, I'd be giving them the same review - but paying a lot more! Great value!

Use these on my deck outside. Sound is awesome and the weather has not affected the sound.

I installed the set of dual speakers under my patio and wired them to channel "B" of my amplifier in the house. They are great to entertain guests or just listen too on the lounge chair.
