I didn't hear any big problem with Paul's drumming at 1:38, but the remastering definitely highlights his "interesting" drum fills. Lol. I have to say that the new 'White Album" cd sounds incredibly warm. Almost as if I was listening to my vinyl copy. Yet the sound is clearer as well. I am hearing some things I hadn't remembered hearing before. A good example is the guitar strumming on "Piggies". I had never noticed the double time strumming as the vocal begins. Pretty cool.
You are so correct about "Piggies" ! I had headphones on and this was a revelation. The other thing that impresses me is how clearly any strings or horns sound. This carries over to Revolver. The low strings on "Eleanor Rigby" sound amazingly clear. The horns in "Got To Get You Into My Life" also shine.
Of all the Beatles' remastered CDs, I feel that the clearest difference from the earlier CD release is shown with the 'White Album'. The sound simply shines, and makes a great record sound more full, dramatic and stunning than ever.
