The White Bird is a wonderful story. Sam Sloan, Steals Many Horses, White Magpie and Yellow Bluebell, are so well defined by the author,you feel their joys,hopes and sorrows. The novel is very spiritual and real. The rancher who befriends them, is a constant suprise throughout the book. The White Bird is a rare gem. I'll never forget it.

This fictional novel is ranked as one of Mr. Paine's even better narratives written during his later years. His unique mastering of the storyline with realism, compassion, and interest shows throughout the book. A must have book for the short time it will take to read it. Another "can't put it down" read.
