This is a Steal,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Target.com was actually selling this one for awhile (I ended up buying mine through Creative Interiors anyways though - it was less expensive, even with shipping.)
At one time, I do recall that this Buffet was advertised as having a Butcher Block Top (which now 'more accurately reads' Butcher Block Top Look.) It was for this reason alone that I initially made the purchase, but thank goodness I did. Had I known up front that I wasn't getting Butcher Block, I would have never given this Buffet a chance. If you have a small Kitchen or are in need of some additional storage space - this is something I would recommend hands down. For the price, you get a piece of furniture that looks like it's worth far more than it is ($150 is nothing for a buffet.) In the large cabinets, you'll get adjustable wooden shelves. Very sturdy and great for storing away kitchen appliances. I manage to fit my bread pans, dual sized toaster, George Forman, Crockpot, cutting board, my large braising pan, blender and beater - with some room to spare. The smaller cabinet to the right fits my large Tupperware (that I store dry rice in) and my rice cooker - again with room to spare. I keep a small tool box in one of the drawers, and the other drawer is just a collection of odds and ends. Again... as the top is not real Butcher Block, don't get any ideas about slicing and dicing fruits and vegetables on it. However, it does do a great job of simulating real Butcher Block (which matches the Butcher Block trim on my counter tops), and it's easy to dress up with a decorative bowl filled with fruits. The back of the buffet is pressboard (keep it up against a wall, no one will know), and the drawer runners are made of plastic (which concerned me at first, but they manage just fine.) Assembly is required. You'll need a screwdriver, hammer and some patience. I'm 105 pounds and managed to wiggle walk this up my front porch and into my family room on my own (heavy box), and had it fully assembled in about 2 1/2 hours. It would probably take less time with an electric screwdriver (and save you a blister or two.) Takes awhile to get the cabinet doors to properly align (hinges offer a lot of tweaking room) - but they'll line up fine if you're diligent. By far - the best piece of inexpensive furniture I have ever owned.

Exactly what I hoped it would be!,

Sometimes it's hard to tell from a picture exactly what you'll be getting, but this buffet was perfect! I thought it would take me hours to put it together, but the instructions were very clear. A Black & Decker drill makes assembly even quicker. It looks beautiful in my kitchen.........thanks!

Excellent product,

I just purchased this online and had free shipping. The product was worth its weight in gold. It arrived in only one week and was waiting on the porch when I arrived home from work. It took about 1.5 hours to put it together. The directions were very easy to follow. All parts were there and they also included extra of most parts. The item weighs a bit more than 85 pounds so you will need help carrying it. I'm glad I made this purchase. It fits my needs very well. I highly recommend this product.

Good Storage,

I love this item because it does have a lot of storage and still fits in my tiny kitchen without taking up much space. The adjustable shelves let me get all of my small appliances in there and then some. Plus, my microwave and toaster oven both fit on the top. My only complaint is that it is still not completely put together because we are still waiting on a missing piece. One of the drawer bottoms was missing in the original shipment. We called once and a replacement was sent out right away, but they sent the front and side pieces instead of the bottom.

PERFECT,

The photo is exact! The quality is perfect, and my husband put it together without any problems. We are pleased also with the fast delivery service. I barely hung up the phone. I did some compare shopping first and I printed out this ad and showed it to a near- by "do it yourself store". Their reply: "can't touch it! You had them beat. A pleased customer

I purchased this item and it was in my home within a week. It was very easy to assemble taking about 11/2 hours. The directions were very clear and the piece is a great buy for the money. It went into a space that was very small and starving for kitchen cabinets and look great. I think that this is a wonderful buy and you won't be sorry by purchasing it.

My husband and I put the buffet together with little effort and no arguements! It's a beautiful piece and gives me the added storage space I desperatly needed. The manufacturer was also wonderful - we had several pieces that were damaged and we called the manufacturer and they shipped us the new pieces immeadiatly without any questions. The buffet is very solid and sturdy as well as nice to look at - like I said before a great piece of furniture for a fantastic price.

Storage problem? What storage problem?!,

This item is exactly as pictured and described. Assembly is required, which is usually the case with any mail-order item such as this. However, the assembly was very easy, and the price is comparable to similar-quality items. Based on the price and weight, it is obvious that this is not a high-end buffet, but in my opinion, the end result is still an answer to our storage problem, as well as a nice looking addition to our kitchen.

Much Needed Space,

I ordered the white buffet on-line too. And found that the unit was quite heavy to my into the house. I was not happy to see how the company packaged the product. I think that if they took the time to better wrap the buffet. They would have less returns. But, over all I do love the buffet. And it gives me much needed space to put more kitchen things in and on top of!

Very Nice Buffet,

I ordered this off amazon.com after reading reviews that were mostly favorable. I definitely think it was a good purchase. It is VERY heavy (~90 lbs) and I had a little trouble getting it up the stairs in my apt by myself, but I managed. It was fairly easy to put together, although it did take me almost 2 hours - but the directions were excellent. It came with all the pieces, and even had some extra screws and nails. It may help to have someone assist in assembly (mostly just to help turn it on its side, or hold the cabinet door up while you're attaching it). The drawer bottoms are sturdy cardboard, but is fine for filling it up with silverware. This product adds extra counter space (which I had none of) and looks nice in an apartment. The top has a wood-esque top but didn't seem flimsy and is "butcherblock-like." I wouldn't chop directly on it, but with a cutting board it's fine.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because when I attached the doors they're not completely straight, athough if I played around with it enough I could probably get them straighter, it would just be very difficult and may take a little more time. I didn't have a power drill and just used a hand held philips head screwdriver and it worked great. This product seems sturdy. I recommend it. |
