About the Author

Irving Berlin (1888-1989) was the most prolific songwriter of the twentieth century. He composed over twelve hundred songs, including "White Christmas," "Blue Skies," and "Alexander's Ragtime Band." "God Bless America" was first introduced in 1938 and continues to inspire this nation at times of triumph and tragedy. The Berlin estate donates all royalties from the song to the God Bless America Fund to benefit America's youth.

This book is for the Intermediate Pianist (I'd say level 4-5 if you're comparing it by the Alfred lesson books.) The arrangements are in their entirety, but simplified for the Intermediate Pianist. Easy to follow notation and lyrics; my family loves to sing along while I play these classic tunes.

As I play and sing the songs in this songbook, they bring back great memories of the fist time I saw the movie as a young man. I see the faces of the stars and the actors portraying the soldiers, and remember the story of the sacrifice. If you loved the movie, you'll love having the songbook!
