From Library Journal

Reshelle "Flame" Russell knows from the time she was a child that she'll someday marry handsome Samuel "White Fire" Dowling. Following his mother's betrayal and his father's death, White Fire returns to his Indian roots in the Minnesota Territory, where his wife has died and his son has been taken by whites to live in a nearby settlement. Can a headstrong young woman who is trying to escape her controlling father and a man tormented by a deceitful mother and an intolerant society find their way to one another? Readers who like strong characters and compelling stories rich with passion and steeped in Indian lore will find it all here. Edwards (Comanche Dawn, Topaz, 1996) is the winner of the Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the Best Indian Series award. She lives in Mattoon, Illinois.

Absolutely one of her best books. I have numerous books of Cassie Edwards and this one tops them all. I enjoy her books since I am part Cherokee. They touch my heart like no other.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I have read in moe than 5 years., July 21, 1999

This review is from: White Fire (Paperback)
I could not put it down. I usually read something a little bit and then put it down for a while. I had this book done in less than 24 hours. It had me from the beginning. The love in it, the passion the story in itself. It left me in awe.

2.0 out of 5 stars White Fire falls short, February 5, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: White Fire (Paperback)
I was very disappointed in this Cassie Edwards novel....it falls short of her usual wonderful work. Set in Minnesota, around Fort Snelling, the story line is too predictable. In fact, I found it to be superficial. Were it not for the Minnesota setting (my home) I would have never read past the first chapter.
