This was a birthday present for my mom, and she loved it. The price was fair, and the quality was good - even the box quality was decent.

I was really excited to find this necklace, as it was the exact style I was looking for, for my sister's wedding on July 18th. When I ordered it, the shipping info said that it "usually ships within 4-6 weeks," which would have meant that it arrived very close to the wedding... and I was nervous about the word "usually." So I ordered it, asked for 1-Day shipping, and then ordered some others. My strategy was that I would try others, and if I found something else that fit the bill of what I was looking for just as well, I would cancel the pending order. In the meantime, I'd have this one planned as a backup, in case I didn't find anything else that was so perfect.

Well, imagine my surprise when only one day later I woke up to 2 emails from Amazon... one saying "your merchandise is available earlier than expected," and the other saying "your merchandise has shipped." I had ordered the necklace at 1:30 a.m. on 5/18, and those two emails were sent to me around 10:00 p.m. the very same day that I ordered it (I woke up to the messages on 5/19). I guess I selected the 1-Day shipping... at $18... for no reason at all.

When I got the necklace, I was hugely disappointed. I expected more for $99. Yes, it's a pretty little necklace, but it is much much much smaller than I expected. I guess it's hard to judge it when you see it magnified with an exaggerated ruler inch next to it. It is half as big as I thought it would be. And on the magnification, the chain looks decent. It is not... it is the flimsiest little chain imaginable... I think a strong wind might break it and tear the necklace right off your neck.

If you are looking for a VERY SMALL AND DELICATE necklace, this one is for you. The stones are beautiful and true to color depicted. The diamond chips, while very small, are beautiful and sparkly. It would be perfect, if that's what you're looking for. Unfortunately, I expected more for $99. If the diamond chips and white gold are what made it so expensive, I would have rather had CZs and a more substantial chain in sterling instead.

One suggestion I have for Amazon would be to show jewelry pictured on an actual model... I'm sure it would cut down on returns. The place I ended up getting my necklace did that, and it helped a lot to see the actual size of it on a real person. I ended up getting a necklace that was absolutely PERFECT for $80. It is a very LARGE amethyst teardrop stone accented in CZs, and has a very substantial sterling silver chain that is faceted and sparkles. It is everything that I thought this one was going to be, although it is not the Y drop style that I had hoped for. Unfortunately, I am returning this one for a refund.

Incidentally, now that I am here on this product again, the shipping info has changed to read "In Stock." So I guess there is no longer a 4-6 week wait. Or it may have been an error on Amazon's part to list it that way to begin with.
