2.0 out of 5 stars Nowhere near the quality advertised., October 10, 2009
This ring doesn't even APPROXIMATE the quality that is advertised.

I had to return the ring the first time because I noticed a pretty nasty surface inclusion on the center stone; as I bought this as an engagement ring for my fianceé I felt uneasy about the notion of communicating my desire to spend the rest of my life with her by way of a ring bearing stones with blemishes easily noticeable to the unaided eye. Ryan was understanding and authorized the ring to be returned for repair or replacement. Fast forward a week and the ring came back to me, this time with a new center stone, complete with an even more glaringly obvious blemish to the surface than the original stone had.

I went to have the ring appraised and the center stone came back as SI quality, with the two white diamonds being graded as I1 and I2 respectively. That's a far cry from what is being advertised here.

The certificate of authenticity is pointless; the "certification" doesn't come from an independent lab but rather from Diva themselves; furthermore the certificate is completely impersonal, not even addressing the piece purchased or its individual components; and instead consists of a simple declaration that "[...] certifies that the diamonds, gemstones and gold purchased are genuine and have been hand selected and inspected by trained jewelry specialists for quality, color, cut and compliance with United States Gold Quality Standards."

--My beef isn't so much that I was not delivered a piece with certified VS quality diamonds--I really don't care about that,--but rather, that the diamonds are of such obviously poor quality that I could not possibly have the love of my life parading this ring around for the span of our engagement. I'm not that picky; regardless of clarity grade, if I could look upon these stones without being able to pick up all manner of inclusions with my naked eye I would be happy. That's really all I ask for and I think it's completely reasonable.

My fianceé and I think this is a truly beautiful design for a ring; though what you see here on Amazon certainly isn't what you get. The pictures are deceptive; the band is MUCH thinner than the picture would have you believe. The band is 1mm thick at the bottom and 2mm thick up top near the stones. Moreover the picture suggests a roundness to the width of the band that simply isn't there: it's really quite blocky and angular, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But it should be noted to prospective buyers.

Ryan has neglected to reply to my last two e-mails; but as soon as I get a response from him I will be returning this ring once more, this time for a refund. DivaDiamonds has simply dropped the ball with this one, failing to deliver anything even approximating the product that has been advertised.

From other reviewers of this series of rings, it sounds like the two main complaints are that the ring is smaller than the image (which doesn't impart a sense of scale) and the color of the blue diamond not matching.

Blue diamonds are not always the blue color shown here, as these types of pictures are taken under specialized lighting. In normal lighting, the color is a deeper, greener blue. Make sure you look up some blue diamond pictures and you'll be able to see the range of colors they take on.

For future reference, the ring uses a trellis-style setting. It was pretty hard to make out in the picture and I really wanted to avoid a bulky bezel-type setting.

Overall, the diamonds are good quality with no visible inclusions or weird colors. The trellis setting is elegant and shows the diamonds off well. I'm thrilled with my purchase and am glad I spent the extra time researching, which led me to this beauty!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality and style, December 24, 2008
Got this as an engagement ring for my now fiancee and she loves it! The quality of the stones is good and it really is 14k white gold. It's quite stunning when light reflects on it. Went to have it appraised and it came back to about $2000. The absolute best is that it didn't break the bank. So as long as she doesn't know, I'm golden!

1.0 out of 5 stars No where near what is advertised, November 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I recently ordered this ring as a gift to my girlfriend and upon arrival was very disappointed. The ring just looked poor. I decided to take it in to get it appraised and the first thing is that the ring is only 10K and not 14K as advertised. Other than that the band is very thin and many flaws can be seen in the diamond easily. I highly discourage anyone from ordering this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Images Stolen from another jeweler, October 5, 2011
The main image of this ring was stolen from another jeweler, Apples of Gold. If you want the actual ring pictured here, it is not going to cost a mere $299! You can see the original jeweler's product at Apples of Gold -- the one listed here, however, is just a cheap knock-off.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty in Pictures, October 4, 2011

This ring is child size. If you have big fingers don't bother. It is TINY. The gold is so thin my jeweler will not re size it for fear of breaking. Returning immediately for refund. I will look for something with a better description.

This review is from: 14K White Gold Round 3 Stone Blue Diamond & White Diamond Ring (1/2 cttw) - Size 6 (Jewelry)
My husband bought this ring for our engagement. The blue diamond is much darker than the picture, but still lovely, and I actually prefer it to the seller's picture.
I have been wearing the ring almost non-stop for about two years now, and have not had any problems with the stone coming loose, or damage to the band.
My ring did not have an noticeable blemishes, besides one small mark on the blue diamond that is impossible to see unless the stone is hit by direct sunlight.
I have not had the ring professionally cleaned yet, but my simple polishing cloth returns the ring to its original splendor with little effort. I have also not had the ring appraised.
I cannot express how much I adore this ring. The beauty of it is not lost on me, even though it has been a couple of years. Every time I look at it, I smile.

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY Misleading picture, May 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The stones are much smaller than what is pictured (they use the same photo for all carat versions of this ring).

Also, the center stone we received was not even close to the color in the picture (it is nearly black) we can only tell that it is blue when held up to a bright light.

The metal band on this ring is very... petite (thinner than it looks in the picture).

Overall it is an OK ring, but only slightly resembles what is in the picture (might have been 3 or 4 stars if it was what we were looking for.

Amazon, don't let your sellers ruin your reputation.

Plain and simple, the ring is what they say. The blue is a bit darker than it appears in the picture, however, it is definitely a sight to see. The quality is up to par, and the customer service is fantastic.

This review is from: 14K White Gold Round 3 Stone Blue Diamond & White Diamond Ring (1/2 cttw) - Size 6 (Jewelry)
Didn't go to an appraiser, but jeweler up street said the gold is worth $22. It was thinner and a VERY misleading ring. But...I have fallen for it. Just irritated that they cannot just put the correct real picture of the ring up. Should be illegal and should be required to know; grams of metal, carrot of each diamond.
