This review is from: White Horse, Black Hat: A Quarter Century on Hollywood's Poverty Row (The Scarecrow Filmmakers Series) (Hardcover)
This book was purchased from AmazonHave you ever gotten in a discussion pertaining to this movie, or this person in the movie, where the conversation goes to--And this is really what happened!! Well this book is for just that time, as Mr. C. Jack Lewis not only wrote screenplays for the motion picture and television Industry, He has more then six thousand articles to his credit.Pertaining to the Western Movie Industry! This is first hand information on the actors and there personal history. With how they conducted them selves both on or off the film lot. I find it a very valuable source of information and fact's I didn't know about. This makes my movie watching a whole lot better as I understand just who these folks really are or were! I recommend this book very highly,

Great book! It is well written and insightful. Jack Lewis lived the life of the B Western movie and he conveys it well in this book. They are all there with him, Lash Larue, Fuzzy Q. Jones, Frog Millhouse, Tex Maynard, Wild Bill Elliot, Bob Steele, etc. Fantastic read, that I had trouble putting down.

--although I've read a lot of the same material by Jack Lewis in the western shooting and gun mags, this is an excellent look at the heyday of cowboy movies--
