5.0 out of 5 stars Nite lite bulb replacment
I have tried several LED C-7 bulbs to use in nite lites. These are the brightest I have found, but be warned they don't work well in the automatic light sensing models because they only work about half brightness. When used in the old fashion switch type they are as bright as any 7 watt incandescent, just with a blueish white color light. They never get hot, won't break...

This light produces the early version of "white" LED light was typical of the first LED Christmas light strings. That is to say that the light from it is actually Blue instead of white. The clear glass lens on the LED does not help this effect either.

They never get hot, won't break if dropped, so they are kid and animal friendly. I have had some test bulbs lit for a couple of months with no loss of light. With solid construction, 3 leds and the diamond cut plastic bulb cover to protect them and disperse the light they look good also.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice!, May 6, 2007

These are great! They use less energy, make great night lights, and don't burn out all the time. They are more blue than white. The glow is pleasant and soothing. Glad I purchased them!

This light produces the early version of "white" LED light was typical of the first LED Christmas light strings. That is to say that the light from it is actually Blue instead of white. The clear glass lens on the LED does not help this effect either.

As has been noted by others, the amount of light produced by this bulb is NOT very bright at all. Most people who are used to purchasing CFL bulbs might be misled by the .96 Watt rating into trying to use that number to compare with a CFL bulb. DO NOT DO THIS! The wattage rating is actually the true light rating of the bulb!! This bulb puts out between 1/4 and 1/7th the amount of light that a standard night light bulb produces (or standard C7 Christmas light bulb).

I purchased these bulbs to replace bulbs in night lights (got tired of having to replace the standard bulbs every 5 to 6 weeks) and to also use in Christmas displays (signs and plastic figures that use C-7 4 to 7 watt light bulbs). The blue light and low level of light produced by these bulbs does not work well. The blue light gives everything a very strange and cold appearance. The low level of light makes the displays hard to see and does not provide enough light to make a useful nightlight.

Shipping charges also cost more than the bulbs do (I bought several bulbs) so your experiment will become rather expensive quickly.

If you have a display that will accept a larger bulb (still using the candelabra light base), I would suggest using CFL bulbs. They use 4 Watts of power and produce 25 watts of light. Inflatable displays that used a string of 5 bulbs (5X4watts for a total of 20 watts of power and 20 watts of light) I was able to replace with two CFL bulbs (2X4 watts for a total of 8 watts of power to produce 50 watts of light) for a brighter display that uses less power. Better yet, the CFL bulbs do not burn out every few days like the regular bulbs do when the displays are bounced around by wind (or the occasional child who tries to play with it).

As other customers have stated, this is a very rugged and decently bright lightbulb. Runs very coolly and efficiently compared to incandescent bulbs.

However, it is decidedly NOT white--I would describe it as light blue--so it did not work for my needs (and it would not be worth my time/money to return the ones I ordered).

There ARE decent white LED lights out there that do, in fact, look white--this is just not one of them. I should have read the reviews before ordering it. :/

If the seller would simply change the description to say "light blue" rather than "white", I'd give the bulb 5 stars.

Not real bright, but just fine for a small bathroom nightlight. Great price and my wife likes the way it looks.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good reliable accent bulb, January 6, 2008

I bought several of these to use as decorative accent bulbs. They are great for that purpose. They run cool, burn little energy and burn almost forever. The white bulbs are bluish. The colored bulbs are spectacular. The colors are incredibly vibrant. Like laser light.

I don't know what country manufactures these. They are not marked. I've had several of these running constantly for months now. There have been no failures. Despite what another reviewer said, the quality seems fine.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dull, and not the same as a bulb, May 11, 2007

NOT white, more blue.

MUCH less light than an average X-mas bulb, & don't replace the brighter ones like night lights or the one in the dryer.

The night lights will be too dark.

Wait until they get LCD bulbs better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great night light bulb, January 9, 2011

Bought several of these to replace 4W incandescent light bulbs for kids night lights.
Unlike other reviews, the bulbs I recieved from tech cellular were NOT bluish, but warm white in color.

The light produced was about equivalent to the 4 watt incandenscent bulbes I replaced. Maybe a little bit less, but I liked that.

The light was well diffused and not directional.

Overall these were a great night light bulb, and a good option to the more expensive name brand night light led bulbs.

This bulb is not even close to the brightness level of a standard C7 night light bulb. Also the bulb "flickers" constantly, instead of being steadly on which drives me crazy. I took a gamble in the hopes that this would be a good bulb but no such luck. I really wish the LED light revolution would happen already.
