My favourite book review,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: White Lies and Barefaced Truths (Truth or Dare) (Mass Market Paperback)
White lies and Barefaced truths i thought deserved 5 stars because of its wonderful storyline and content. Kat Kennedy in the story is 14 years old and she finds out when you need to tell the truth and tell white lies. I really enjoyed the story line because it focuses not only on Kat but what other people are feeling around her, you could put yourself in other peoples shoes and know how Kat is feeling at different times in the story. As the story progreses you get to know Kats feelings and she begins to develop and you get to kow more about the other characters and there developments. I would recommend this book for anyone 12-14. It is a brilliant book.

To respond to the reviewer who said these books aren't relatable - well he or she must never have been a teenage girl. Sure it a glamorized version of teenage girlhood but some of the same problems the characters had happen to real girls. Dating, breakups, parents dying ... a lot of girls can relate to that. This book is not supposed to be Anna Karenina but it is for pure entertainment value and I think the writer more than succeeds in entertaining the reader. At least I was entertained. I laughed a lot and felt sad sometimes but it was an adventure. I am 22 now and I love this book so I can imagine that any teenage girl would. Highly recommended!
P.S. I actually enjoyed this more than the 2 Mates, Dates books I've read.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I enjoyed this one just as much if not more. In White Lies and Barefaced Truths, we see things from Kat Kennedy's point of view. Kat's mom died some time before, so she only lives with her dad. She has pretty many siblings and has to deal with them while dealing with herself and her friends. Kat learns to tell the difference between a time when you should tell the truth and when you might need to tweak the truth. I think a lot of girls will connect with this character, so check out this new series written by Cathy Hopkins.

this book is amazing!,
This review is from: White Lies and Barefaced Truths (Truth or Dare) (Mass Market Paperback)
this book can relate to any teenager. it is about fourteen year old Cat and her problems with her relationships. First of all, she is getting a bit tired of her boyfriend: Squige. she likes him, but she thinks of him more of a brother, rather than a boyfriend. Also, her best friend, Becca likes this hot guy named ollie. So what's the problem? well, Cat honestly likes the same guy. But she can't tell her best friend...so anyway, Becca begs Cat to go talk to him. Cat says yes, but she never meant it. The next day, Cat is sitting on the beach remensing about her dead mother who she misses very much when....Ollie sits down next to her! he starts to flirt with her and she flirts back. he buys her some icecream and it's getting late when she realizes she hadn't mentioned Becca. Right when she's about to, ollie kisses her. When she finally leaves the beach, Becca asks her to talk to him. When Cat gets quiet..becca knows something is wrong.
And that is the beginning of the best book ever!!! read the rest to find what happens next!!

This book was pretty good, with an ok plot and characters...for someone that didn't read the "Mates, Dates, and..." series. The books are practically the same. Cat sounds alot like Lucy, who also lives in a house with a big family, has a crush on her friends older brother, and meets a new friend who is gorgeous, just like when Lucy meets Nesta, in "Mates, Dates..". The books are so simular that it's easy to mix the two books' characters up. If you don't mind a little confusion, then read both series, because if you like one, you will like the other.

I really thought i was going to like this book because i thought the "Mates, Dates.." series is really good! Everything in this book is so..expected, like you know what is going to happen next, which does not make for a very interesting read. It was the same old, "OHH i LOVE him but i can't tell! I'll break someone's heart! OH NO! What am i going to do!?" Seriously..this book isn't very worth reading (which i figured out after i read it). But i guess if you are a fan of the "Mates, Dates.." series then you could read it. This series just isn't the same though.

First of all, please do not write a review for a book if you can not spell. (Ps. They're, not there) Secondly, please support all the statements with facts without giving too much information. I am sorry everyone this was how to for writing a review.

I have to say this series is horrible. there so stupid and they dont relate to real life. They bore me. i would rather read something more intersting like the gossip girl series or the hard cash triloigy.
