I have read quite a few books on Psychic Protection and this is one of the VERY best! Diane Ahlquist writes in an engaging and easily readable style and offers a wealth of information to the reader. Hers is a practical book filled with information on HOW one can be attacked psychically - and WHAT to do if you ARE under attack. She offers many avenues to fend off negativity and keep your environment pest-free. This book is a 'must read' for ANYONE dealing with the metaphysical community!

I really got alot out of this book. It explained alot about why my life had not been going the way I thought it should be.
Sometimes people can drain us of our energy by merely being around them. Even people that live far away have the ability to zap us of our vitality. Diane's book gives you ways and means to keep away those energy vampires. It also addresses thoughts about ghosts and other entities. Lots of information. One of the better books I have purchased on psychic protection. I would highly recommend it.

I bought this book on a whim. I might say my higher power made me do it. Once I received my copy I was amazed at how it pertained to my life. What a kick! People are always dumping their problems on me which used to deplete me of energy. Now with the White Light techniques Ahlquist suggests, I feel much better. This is the best few dollars I ever spent. Take the chance and buy the book. It helped me and hopefully it will give you insights as well! I feel it gave me my control back.

I highly recommed this book both for everyone interested in this field!!!
Whether you are new or experienced in this field - everyone has something to gain from it.
It covers a vast amount of daily events where you might need quick and easy protection to more "advanced" forms like: dealing with "ghosts", evil, possessions etc.
It is a book very well written by an experienced psychic - easy to follow & easy to learn.
It explains what needs to be explained and has a good "Glossary" for those that are not familiar with the terminology.
Last but not least it is equipped with Warnings for certain "methods" - that you definetely should not deal with unless you have experienced guidance.
The book is aimed to Defend with love in your heart!

I had this book and lost it, then immediatly bought another copy. Informative, and good guides for practices. Recomend to all of those who feel "drained" after talking to people, or if you feel you are being attacked.

If you're a neophyte to this subject, this book is for you. If not, there are still some things you can learn from the author. Keep an open mind, and you will find much useful information about subjects that are part of Wicca and other belief systems. To understand the fundamentals behind what is mentioned, take an undergraduate anthropology of religion course, something that will show beliefs and practices from other cultures as well - including indigenous ones. Also, do not neglect Marion Zimmer Bradley's *Lady of Avalon* for additional ideas in this vein. When dealing with intolerance, persecution and social ostracism, for instance, it is wise to be as protected as possible.

I can't say I have ever been the victim of hex, spell or curse, but experienced an incident not too long ago where I felt a psychic read me without my permission at a small public event. I think she saw I was intuitive and wanted to know if I was a potential threat. I do volunteer energy work/healing at the local hospitals, but haven't ever been drained or had a negative reaction so never thought twice about protecting myself from the energy intrusions of others. To be honest until this incident I thought of energetic protection as unnecessary for me even through I work with energy. The incident made me think about protecting and shielding myself from energetic intrusions.

There are a variety of protection techniques covering many situations such as protecting your energy while giving a reading, in crowds/gatherings, at home and work, in relationships, and how to lift a hex, spell or curse, psychic attacks, etc. The book doesn't represent just one path of protection such as Wicca or Christian, but is a blend of techniques taken from different cultures. True to the name of the book, there are some techniques using white light, but there are also rituals, aura cleansing, angels, prayer, throwing energy, affirmations, herbs, smudges, baths, crystals, charms, creating a dream pillow, etc. Since there are quite a few areas covered no area is covered deeply and some chapters are more in the cautionary tale vein, but I as the techniques are kept simple and the book covers a variety of situations I think it serves as a suitable basic primer and reference. I also believe simple techniques are usually the best and the author also reminds us to not invite trouble or take risks we don't have to. If you follow a particular spiritual path some of the techniques could probably be adjusted to suit your needs. Readers can always look up more information on a specific technique or area of protection elsewhere if needed. There is a helpful glossary in the back and an index.
