Not just for bicycle chains,

This review is from: White Lightning Clean Ride the Original Self-Cleaning Wax Bicycle Chain Lubricant, 4-Ounce Drip Squeeze Bottle (Sports)
I have used White Lightning (now Clean Ride) for years and find it to be more than satisfactory. I have always thoroughly cleaned my bike chains before applying using a good organic degreaser. Warming the chain with a heat gun helps. The Clean Ride advantages over oil and grease are (1) starts out extremely thin so it penetrates everything and then dries to a wax film, (2) because it is dry, dirt and sand do not readily stick to it, keeping the chain cleaner, (3) stays put, does not fly off getting all over everything. For the above reasons, I tried Clean Ride anywhere I normally needed a lubricant, but didn't want the oily mess. Door hinges, locks, machine screws, etc. I find in most circumstances it exceeds my expectations and it seems to last a very long time. Does not replace oil or grease in machinery, but for intermittent or low speed mechanical equipment it works very well. I have not used it extensively on non-metal parts so I cannot comment on how it works with them.

This is the product recommended by SOG knives to lubricate the blade pivot on their knives and it works very well. It does not attract dirt and is not oily.
