5.0 out of 5 stars A great documentation of the latest incarnation of "White Lion"
Following the release of "White Lion"s double live album "Live in the USA" (2007), "Frontiers records" would also market "White-Lion- Live at bang your head festival 2005" in 2008. Being a festival set, the DVD captures the band going through the 10 most essential songs of their catalogue, on an evening set with practically no lighting support. Still the set is...

1.0 out of 5 stars Omg. The Years have not been kind to Mike...sad.
I loved White Lion back in the day and I was excited to see this dvd. That was until I watched it. He still looked hot as hell, but the voice, not so hot. He changed around classic melody lines to hit the notes and downtuned in some areas. I HATE HATE HATE that. I guess he just isnt one of those trained singers that preserve their voices for years to come. (ie: Sebastian...

He changed around classic melody lines to hit the notes and downtuned in some areas. I HATE HATE HATE that. I guess he just isnt one of those trained singers that preserve their voices for years to come. (ie: Sebastian Bach, Bret Michaels). They sound the same now as they did 20 years ago when I first saw them. Def a RENTAL, not a purchase.

Still the set is professionally shot and recorded with all instruments coming through clearly with a clean as it gets mix, plus a good amount of camera angles.

The line up features founder Mike Tramp along guitarist Jamie Law, bassist Claus Langescov, key player Hanning Wanner and drummer Troy Patrick Farrell; it is this line up that would record "White Lion"s comeback studio album "Return of the Pride" three years later. It has to be mentioned that despite the intervening years Mike Tramp has lost nothing of his rock star charm and presence while his physique is as stellar as ever; for that matter his stage his moves, poses interaction with the crowd and overall style manage to fill the huge stage and receive applause from a crowd that are not necessarily glam metal fans.

The songs are also faithfully preformed, very much in line with the original versions and the band really seem to be having a blast, particularly Patrick on drums and Jamie on guitar put on a great show and play well with the cameras. Being aware of the state of the music industry and the limited resources behind video concerts, "Live at bang your head" is an enjoyable, professional and respectable package that delivers a high energy performance and ten of "White Lion"s greatest songs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Agreement with J. Rogers - Mike Tramp voice is a problem, April 19, 2011
This review is from: White Lion: Live at Bang Your Head Festival 2005 (DVD)
It sounds like Mike Tramp has a cold in the way he is singing.

I strongly advise you go to Youtube to sample the clips before buying then make your decision.

Thank you J. Rogers for point this vocal problem out in your review

3.0 out of 5 stars No Vito Bratta, April 8, 2011

The production quality and sound are excellent. The song selection is also superb, Fight to Survive, Hungry, Broken Heart etc...

The problem, it is only Mike Tramp. The rest of the band is good, but the guitar player, I forget his name is not in the same league as a Vito Bratta. If you are going to go out and tour, you need to replace a giant with a very good player. I understand Doug Aldrich was probably not available ha ha as he does so many other groups tours, as he should he is excellent.

I would recommend this to White Lion fans, it is very good, the guitar player is good, he's just not Vito Bratta

The previous bozo- please avoid.. This DVD is fantastic.. All LIVE tunes w/exception of just a few minutes interview footage spliced in-no tunes are cut short or missing anything..The real fans of this band already know the past.. Mike Tramp is and was the voice and still is, again, the voice of White Lion.. He has assembled a great backing back to compliment the tunes we love so much.. Buy it and you will not be let down. great Stuff for the price and the bonus features are the extra kick.
