Born and educated in Sydney, Australia, Titania Hardie is the highly successful author of a range of distinctive books published in the UK on folklore, magic, and divination, and recently a new series of children's books, The Frangipani Fairies. She has first-class honors degrees in psychology and English and was awarded the prestigious Chatterton scholarship for post-graduate study at Bristol University, where she is currently completing her M.A. on the Romantic poets. The Rose Labyrinth is her first novel. Titania lives in Somerset with her husband and two daughters.

While I highly reccomend this book, please note that it is a reprint of Titania Hardie's "Hocus Pocus" which I already own and love. For anyone who does not already own "Hocus Pocus," "White Magic" would be a great book to get. It is purely a spell book and doesn't get all preachy like so many books on Wicca and witchcraft do. As someone who has studied Wicca for five years now I sometimes find it difficult to find new books that are more than the basic 'this is what Wicca is' stuff which I already own a number of books about. Titania Hardie's books always please me and I continue to refer to them time and time again. This books contains many beautiful and, for the most part, easy to do spells along with beautiful and inspiring pictures.

I was so happy when i heard about this book the first time. the cover (it's very plush and pretty ), as well as the idea that this would be a book filled with positive actions, and because of it would help you to create positive outcomes in your life -- honestly, a dream come true!

Coming home with the book, and then reading it, was a little sad. most of the spells seem more like ways to add quick fixes to your life. There are spells for wealth and health and love (and others i cant rememebr), but they seem almost like they are lacking what the searcher of spells may be looking for, ways to truly change the core of there lives for the better (perhaps thats just this reviewers thoughts). i was also disapointed to see one or two love spells. when it comes to great positive magic, it's importint to remember and respect everyones right to be free (harming none)-- to learn and to become who they are ment to become. that cannot happen if this person and that person is using there own will to take someone elses-- no harm must come to anyone, no matter what. this book, and her series of books, have so much beautiful potential, but sadly they do not seem to live up to what they are trying to create. i'd love to see future books in this series however, but hope that they really grow in there creations of spells, there morals, ideas, and there positive magic, for the betterment of all. cheers and thanks for listening!
