4.0 out of 5 stars Honest Perception of Prison Life, December 29, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Donald Goines reveals the truth without hesitation. It's weird how this book was written in the 1970's. Then I'm reminded of the setting when he mentions shows such as "Flip Wilson". I say that because things haven't changed and it's 2009.

If anyone is dumb-founded by the harsh reality of jail behind those 4 walls, then read this book. You'll find out how most men are quick to fall in the traps of homosexuality when they're only facing a short term in jail.

The book is suppose to reveal more about how a black man suffers under the white man's government. Yet, I feel that he got lost into the plot leading to Chester's (main character) "big" lesson.

Very informative piece of work. I'd like to emulate his brutal honesty within my future writings.

Once read, I believe this story will have your younger ones rethinking their view of acceptable consequences for illegal activities.
