White Mountain Electric Ice Cream Maker
White Mountain Electric Ice Cream Maker

Grab your bucket, fetch some ice and rock salt, and get ready to enjoy in one of the greatest American indulgences that the whole family can enjoy – smooth, creamy, homemade ice cream!

At the heart of the White Mountain ice cream maker is a uniquely designed, twin-blade "dasher." The outer canister turns clockwise and the blades turn both clockwise and counter clockwise. That triple-motion action continuously folds the ingredient mixture from the outer walls back onto itself, creating the smoothest and creamiest down-home ice cream ever made.

Once you whip up your favorite ice cream recipe and set up the ice cream maker, simply plug it in and you'll have a delicious batch of ice cream ready to enjoy. The new, improved 12,000-rpm motor is designed with plenty of power to make sure every batch comes out perfect. The White Mountain ice cream maker will be the center of attention at any occasion, be it a party, barbecue, family holiday or a relaxing summer afternoon with a couple of friends.

Enhanced 12,000 RPM Motor

The White Mountain Electric Ice Cream Maker uses a new 12,000 RPM commercial grade motor that provides the churning torque needed for making homemade ice cream. This ice cream maker also has the power to restart after stopping to add fruit, berries, chocolate or candy to a thickened ice cream mixture.

New England Pine Bucket

The premium dark wood stained bucket is crafted of select pine from New England and bound with strong galvanized hoops and electroplated fittings to ensure lasting stability. The slide and lock brackets hold and easily release the motor.

Stainless Steel Canister

The tall canister design allows the ice cream to come in close contact with the ice and rock salt making it freeze faster. The canister is manufactured of heavy-duty stainless steel that will provide years of ice cream making service.

Triple-Action Dasher

The patented dasher system is constructed of heavy-duty cast iron and is electroplated for lasting durability. It will never warp out of shape and the beech wood blades are self-adjusting to ensure uniform scraping of the ice cream mixture on the canisters interior sidewall.

Additional Features
  • 5 year limited warranty
  • Recipes included

My family has been making homemade ice cream for many, many years. It was a tradition that started with my grandparents that has carried on down the line. Back in my childhood days, we had a hand-crank White Mountain ice cream maker. My cousins and I would take turns cranking while the other sat on the bucket to keep it still. It was difficult work, but worth the labor. So many years later when I was offered an ice cream maker, my wife and I selected a hand-crank model. We thought we would pass down this labor of love.

Unfortunately, the hand-crank ice cream maker mostly sits in the closet. It's a bit rusty after 15 years, and the kids don't want to crank it. The cranking IS more laborious than I recalled, and when it's hot outside nobody wants to crank. So we can't put it all off on the kids. I missed homemade ice cream.

So when the opportunity arose to test-drive the White Mountain PBWMIME612-SHP Appalachian Series Wooden Bucket 6-Quart Electric Ice Cream Maker, I jumped at the chance. I was hopeful that this might be the "middle ground" I was looking for. Upon receipt, I immediately opened it up and read the instructions, allowing the bucket to soak in water overnight and pre-washing all of the inner components. I was pleased to find that the dasher and steel canister are of the same quality of my 15-year-old hand crank AND of my grandparent's old maker. Quality has not gone down in this case! The ice cream maker shipped in a nice, sturdy cardboard box that is suitable for long-term storage. Immediately the smell of the pine bucket struck me. It smelled great, and was very heavy and well-constructed.

I bought one of these several years ago and the bucket's quality was amazing. After several years, I bought this one and was completely disappointed to find out that the price increased x3 and the quality decreased by the same rate.

If you don't soak the bucket for a couple of hours before EACH time you want to make ice cream, you'll end up with huge leak of brine solution on your floor.

The motor works OK but is still too noisy. I can live with that noise, but the bucket's quality is absolutely an insult from White Mountain.

I make over twenty gallons of ice cream every weekend. I have had two other machines and this one BY FAR is the best one. Not only does it make ice cream much faster than other machines, the ice cream itself is much more creamier! it is a bit loud but nothing more than other machines. If you are going to be making homemade ice cream, I would highly suggest this product!

I recieved the Whitemountion electric 6 quart ice cream maker for Father's Day 2011. I have used the ice cream maker 6 to 8 times it has done a great job. I love the look of the wooden bucket & the Whitemountain lable. Yesterday on Father's Day I make up my favorit Vanilla recipe with origanic milk & cream. Plugged in the Whitemountain ice cream maker and nothing happened. I tried another outlet, still nothing. There went $20 of milk, cream, vanilla, ice, and salt down the drain. I had on my hands two very disappointed grand daughers who were looking forward home made ice cream. So off to the store for some store bought.
I called Whitemountian this morning and they said they would send me a new motor when they came available. I asked when that would be and was told some time this summer. They could not give me a date. There goes the 4Th of July and our week at our cabin for home made ice cream. Disappointed!!! Note: the motor housing says made in China. It only looks old world and make in USA.

My wife and kids bought me a 6qt white mountain the first few days in May of 2012 because my parents have had one for almost 10 years and it makes fantastic ice cream. However, when I took it out of the box to make my first batch of ice cream, the motor was screaming so loud you litterally could not talk to or hear anybody and the speed of the motor was very slow. Knowing that was not the norm, I called white mountain the next day to voice my concern for the motor. The representitive I spoke with told me that they are having several calls about the same problem with the motor. She told me that she would be happy to send me out a new motor. She then proceeded to tell me that it would be the end of July before I would receive one because they were on "back order". That means waiting "3 months" for the motor so I can make Ice cream after spending $300 to purchase there product. I called again today (08/08/2012)and was told that "the other representive shouldnt have ever told me that I would receive it by the end of July, because she really has no idea when the motor will be available. She hopes it will be by the end of Summer, but doesnt really know when the end of Summer is, they just hope it is here by then". White Mountain USE to be a really good product, However about 4 years ago it was SOLD again, and since then it has all been made in China instead of the USA and if you will check it out you will find that is when all thier problems with the MOTOR started happening. DO NOT wasted your money on the "Electric" model. The motor and the gears really are junk.
