4.0 out of 5 stars White Ninja is my #1 however..., May 26, 2008

So, here's the deal.
I am a loyal White Ninja comics fan, it is my go to source when i'm having a bad day, heck, even when i'm having a good day.
The format of the book is nothing really different from visiting whiteninjacomics.com, which isn't a bad thing.

It goes about as how you'd expect it; appealing cover, dedication page, introduction paragraphs (which can be found at their previously mentioned website), a nice selection of comics (I wonder how they went about choosing which ones to use actually) and nice extras that cannot be seen on the website (ex: white ninja sketchings, discarded comics and the 'real' origination of white ninja, etc).

I was very pleased with my purchase until I realized that there are DUPLICATE comics sprinkled about in the book. I love contributing money to the white ninja creators, but what gives?

Not that i'm bitterly angry or anything, I just thought I should point this out.

The following are all duplicates in my copy:

1.white ninja goes to the museum
2.white ninja has an office job
3.white ninja stares at a light
4.white ninja talks to a potato
5.white ninja's monkey
6.white ninja hurts a peacock
7.white ninja enrolls in witch school
8.white ninja's gf is introduced to his family
9.white ninja wants cosmetic surgery
10.white ninja is santa claus
11.white ninja's inconsiderate roommate
12.white ninja has tea with a giant
13.white ninja is happy
14.white ninja throws a pie
15.white ninja in: munga munga
16.white ninja needs breakfast
17.white ninja and a lobster
18.white ninja fixes jeff
19.white ninja takes his dog to the doctor
20.white ninja's slippers
21.white ninja and the chinese pug
22.white ninja drinks poison
23.white ninja's utility belt
24.white ninja and the fat turtle
25.white ninja and the banjo raccoon
26.white ninja and the no nonsense sandwich
27.white ninja and a big egg
28.white ninja's new year's resolution
29.white ninja slays a dragon
30.white ninja has breakfast

I just counted them and 30 is a lot more than I expected, which is why I subtracted a star. Otherwise, honestly, the white ninja guys can do no wrong.
Maybe I was the lucky one to get the janked out copy.

Best wishes to those who endeavor to get this book. It's nice regardless.

I got this book about two weeks ago and absolutely loved it. It was such a good deal and totally worth the money I paid. I would recommend this book to anyone as well as purchasing it amazon which did a good job delivering a quality product as advertised.

4.0 out of 5 stars "This poem is crap." "You're fat.", June 5, 2008

White Ninja, to the naked eye, is just a really weird comic. Although it often teaches nothing, has no type of logical 'punchline' and rarely proves any points, it's really a light-hearted read that just somehow manages to make you laugh.

Some of my favourites include, "White Ninja Writes a Poem," and, "White Ninja Befriends a Small Child".

If you don't mind the strangeness of the comic, you'll enjoy the humour. If you don't, well, maybe you shouldn't read White Ninja, now should you?

4.0 out of 5 stars White Ninja And The Banjo Raccoon, May 28, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: I am White Ninja and You are my Pickle Sidekick (Paperback)
"White Ninja" is a surreal comic experience. The strip is very stream-of-consciousness and frequently has either no logic or uses juxtapositions of unrelated themes within a strip. In other words, the strip often fails utterly to make sense, which is what makes this a work of comic genius and keeps it decidedly out of the mainstream.

My favorite of all the strips in this book is "White Ninja and the Banjo Raccoon", which despite the title actually deals with snake taxidermy. How's that for odd?

My other favorite was "White Ninja Writes a Poem" in which our fearless hero pens a distracted ode to his beloved thusly:

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
I am a ninja.
Daisys [sic] are white.
Robots kill.
I need groceries.

I see no possible way to improve upon either the poem or the strip.
