CD DVD White Paper Sleeves with Clear Window 1000 Pack

These are quite simply white paper ungummed envelopes with a clear window, appropriate for storing and protecting any CDs and DVDs you have laying around, or for replacing those bulky plastic jewel cases for more efficient storage.

We had a number of piles of DVDs and data CDs cluttering our house when we were producing backups--these plus a "CD vault" (essentially deep CD-sized drawers) helped us immensely in cleaning up the clutter.

PROS

- A little bit thin (85 Gram)

I bought the 85 Gram version of the cd sleeves instead of the 80 Gram (current default. The 85 Gram it is still a bit thinner than I expected and thinner than the sleeves I've used in the past. They are definitely usable, but if I had the opportunity to pay a few dollars more for a thicker sleeve like 100 Gram I probably would.

To put this in perspective - Please keep in mind that my previous purchased paper cd/dvd sleeves were approximately $10 for only 100 and this was $20 for 1,000.

I've ordered disc protectors before and received the wrong product. This was exactly what I was looking for. These are wax paper envelopes the same size as a CD/DVD. They have a round, clear plastic window on the front, and a small flap on the back that fits into a small round slit to keep the envelope closed. Perfect as a cheap way to store or ship CDs or DVDs. Just beware of the shipping price. I didn't really want fast shipping for this product, and I didn't really need to pay *more* in shipping than the product itself. I would have preferred spending $10 or even $5 on shipping. But, the seller was reliable and the product arrived quickly, so no big deal.

These white paper sleeves are a good value for the money. However, there are two versions of these white paper CD/DVD sleeves sold on Amazon. One is 85 g/sleeve with 1000 disks weighng about 9 pounds. The other is 80g/sleeve with 1000 disks weighing about 7.5 pounds. I ordered the sleeves being reviewed here (ASIN: B000UESR4C) which are supposed to be the better quality sleeves (per the product description). I paid a small premium for them. However, the sleeves I actually received were the thinner (80g) ones. By the time I realized that I had received the wrong product, I had already opened one package of 100 sleves (they come with 10 separate packages each containing 100 sleeves). Also, the cost of shipping (regardless of who pays) for me to send the sleeves back and then have the seller send me the CORRECT sleeves (assuming he actually stocks them) was FAR greater than the small price difference between the two sleeves. I contacted the seller and agreed to accept the price difference between the two orders of 1000 sleeves so I would at least get the sleeves I paid for. I received a refund of $1.00 but would have been happier if I had paid that extra dollar and received the sleeves I ordered.

The bottom line is that the 80g sleeves I received look like they will do the job and I can live with them. However, if you are considering ordering the heavier (better quality) sleeves advertised in the product being reviewed here, then even though the product description in Amazon says these ARE the better quality sleeves, CONTACT THE SELLER befoe ordering so you will not be disappointed with what you receive.

I am so pleased with the quality and price and the cd dvd sleeves that I purchased. I highly recommend this item.

Using these is much easier than CD/DVD Albums if you're adding to a collection and want to keep everything in order. The only drawback I saw was that the top flaps need to be folded manually.

This product provides an excellent value for the money. However, I relied on a review that stated the envelopes had a "small flap on the back that fits into a small round slit to keep the envelope closed." This turned out not to be case--the envelopes close with a plain flap (as shown in the picture) and without any slit in the envelope. At this price, though, it may have been expecting too much to have that particular closure mechanism. In any case, I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 simply because they are less sturdy than the envelopes I have used in the past.

I used these sleeves on all of my CD, DVD, PS2,....well all of my discs. It's a pain when you have to fold the cover flaps on 1,000 of these.

Quality was thinner than past purchase! Product is ok but I used to get a much thicker sleeve?...... I will purchase again however if I get the same thin sleeve it'll probably be my last purchase

I got exactly what a paid for, a good deal! But, the only sacrifice in quality I noticed is the you need to make an extra effort to fold down the envelope to close it...the crease doesn't seem to be done well enough that it closes without creasing it yourself. BUT, I got 1000 CD envelopes for unbelievably cheap..so I'm happy.
