No OHV, bad maps, little useful info,

This review is from: White River National Forest Recreation Guide (National Forest Series) (Paperback)
Lots of preachy leave no trace -- or tampon -- behind advice. Little useful information.
WRNF is one of the major OHV areas in Colorado, with trail routes designated and marked by the Forest Service. The cover of this book says 'Forest Service Trail Info.', and has a picture of a motorcycle, so I bought it as a guide to OHV trails. As far as I can tell there is NO INFO ABOUT OHV use. Sheesh. The maps aren't so much maps as diagrams. If you go, you'll need to buy a real map. Every description is pretty much the same: Hike from the start to the end, see the mountain on the left and the one on the right. Fish in the lake. Leave no trace behind. ...Other than that, it's fine. |
