Book Description

July 10, 2001
The old Harris house has been vacant for years.

Restoring the house to its original splendor sounds like a dream. For Polly Harris and her family, it's more like a nightmare.

This summer it's really coming to life.

Because something else lives in the Harris house. It's long dead but not forgotten. And it's not very forgiving either.

In the dark at the top of the stairs, it's waiting. In the white room....

4.0 out of 5 stars A novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat!, January 1, 2002
This review is from: The White Room (Paperback)
A novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A.J. Matthews does an outstanding job by combining a family vacation into a terrifying nightmare. Tim Harris and his wife Polly decide to travel to Main on a family vacation with their son Brian. During this time Polly experiences many tragic events that end up haunting her. The worst part is that she doesn't know there is more to come. Mysterious things start to happen when human bones in a construction site are found and ghostly objects are seen. All this will cause chills on the backs of the readers as the intense moments are read. The most exciting part about this novel is that the reader has no idea what will happen next with the high suspense.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, August 10, 2001

KEVIN SMITH (LONDON United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The White Room (Paperback)
When I purchased this book last weekend I checked out Amazon.com for the reviews and ouch! Four out five reviews said this book was bad but I thought I paid my money and started reading anyway. By about page 70 I was ready to chuck it in the trash..The main charactor seems most of the time crying or fainting which makes for very tedious reading. Best avoid this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Are we through yet?, September 8, 2007
This review is from: The White Room (Paperback)
This book could have been good but it was irritating the way the main character couldn't handle any situation. Also I don't think the narration was believable. It didn't make sense like when she got scared and was leaving her son not knowing what's going on. I flipped throught some of the pages it was so repetitive and boring. The ending to me was predictable and I didn't care at all about the little girl's part in the story. It would have been better totally left out. Not worth my time.
