3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Toy. Not A Useful Fan At All July 27, 2007
Verified Purchase
The fan works under direct sunshine only. And it's so weak that you can't feel anything. I think the CFM is about only 1 or 2. You can't use it to draw hot air out of even just a 3 x 4 restroom.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pass on it August 8, 2007
Works only in bright direct sunlight. You barely feel just a little air when it runs. Not worth the cost.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deal or Dud?: This one is a complete Dud! July 2, 2010
By Horton

This product was terrible!!! It will not run in even the slightest shaded light and must be placed in unobstructed sunlight. There is no on or off switch and there is no battery for the solar cell to charge to use it in evening hours or dusk conditions. The only time it will come on is when you place it in the middle of the yard with nothing remotely around it!

When running the fan is not sufficient to cool anything. So, I can't really imagine any time this product would be useful for anything. It did not meet my expectations and was in my opinion an overpriced piece of junk.

The fan blade hardly spins. Basically a piece of junk. Should be removed from being sold.

1.0 out of 5 stars where's the breeze? October 11, 2012
Verified Purchase
Don't expect to feel any air movement from the fan. Fan does spin up nicely, blade looks efficient but really no air flow that you can feel. Don't bother with this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars worthless September 25, 2012

These solar fans are as worthless as a screen door on a submarine. They do not create enough wind pressure to move cigar smoke. Save your money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent small fan September 13, 2010
By G. Tong
I've owned this fan for several years now and it still works like new.

No, it won't create a breeze you can feel in a room or outdoors.

Yes, it's perfect for close-up cooling, such as on a desk and, for me, in a greenhouse or terrarium. Use the lights in the greenhouse or terrarium to power the fan and you don't have to raise your energy bill for ventilation.

The fan is silent when operating, which is another plus, and the breeze is gentle enough for plants or, say, reptiles in the terrarium.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless May 17, 2011

Like many of the other reviews here say, this fan is useless. It doesn't produce any air flow. You can hold your hand against it and not feel anything even though the blades are spinning. Don't bother with this.

This product is NOT a traditional fan as described in the Amazon description. It is just a ventilation gadget to be placed in a hole made in a window. Read more

Tried it. packed it up and sent it right back. If you accidentally buy this, be relieved that you can return it right away. Invest elsewhere.

When I tried to use the fan it didn't work. I let it sit in the sun for 2 days and it still didn't work. Would not recommend this to others.
