A Bible for the die hard Sox fan.,
By NateDawgWS@aol.com (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: White Sox: The Illustrated Story (Hardcover)
This book is a great one for catching up on the Sox' history throughout the eras. From the Black Sox to the Go-Go Sox to the Big Hurt. It contains almost everything a fan would need to know and would want to know. It did not include all the great players career stats but does with a few. Overall, a thick book but a great and easy read.

Great update of Whittingham's earlier THE WHITE SOX: A PICTORIAL HISTORY,
By Raymond C. Ruether (Dallas, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: White Sox: The Illustrated Story (Hardcover)
Very nicely done update of Whittingham's THE WHITE SOX: A PICTORIAL HISTORY from the 1980s. Most of the original is featured here, along with wonderful entries picking up where the first book left off. This edition features a fantastic collection of photographs spanning White Sox history from the franchise's beginnings at the turn of the 20th century up to the mid-1990s. Major kudos here for providing one of the first published Hall of Fame tributes to White Sox legend Nellie Fox, who in 1997 finally gained enshrinement among baseball's elite in Cooperstown. This edition also includes a foreword by "The Big Hurt", Frank Thomas as well as an introduction by beloved Sox favorite Minnie Minoso. Overall this is a handsome volume that all White Sox fans would be proud to display on their coffee table.
