2.0 out of 5 stars Nice idea
I was excited to try this product as my husband had read about it in a food magazine. I was a bit disappointed that it has a very bitter after taste. It works good in coffee and tea but not in anything without a strong flavor of its own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious alternative to sugar, October 30, 2005

If you are looking for a sweetener that is delicious in tea, Stevia can be used to sweeten hot or cold tea. You can almost say goodbye to regular sugars in your drinks once you get a taste for the Stevia powder.

Unlike artificial sweeteners, Stevia is never bitter and won't leave a nasty aftertaste in your mouth. The packets are easy to carry with you and you may even notice you have less cravings for sugary foods.

By using a low calorie (0 Calories) sweetener with only 1 gram of carbs, you will be ahead of the game. Every single time you use one packet of Stevia, you are using less sugar and you won't even miss it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Alternative to Sugar or Splenda, January 2, 2009
This review is from: White Stevia Powder 100 Packets (Health and Beauty)
Stevia was suggested to me by a friend as a healthy alternative to sugar in my coffee and tea. NuStevia by NuNaturals was the first stevia product I've tried and I'm hooked!

"Why the 4 star rating?"
While some complain it's either too sweet (it is more concentrated than sugar, so it takes less of it to do the same job...) or has a bitter aftertaste (I do notice some aftertaste, but not enough to be unpleasant and not bitter...), it is much easier on my stomach than artificial sweeteners like Splenda. One packet contains almost too much stevia for one regular sized (8 ounce) cup of coffee (at least for my tastes...) so use it sparingly until you find what's right for you.

This is a consistently good, quality product. Don't hesitate to give NuNaturals NuStevia a try!

5.0 out of 5 stars best I've tried so far, December 5, 2009

I've tried a few different brands of packeted powdered stevia and a couple of liquids. I found this brand to work best for me. One kind I tried didn't dissolve well, especially when it hit an ice cube in a glass. One liquid I tried had a funky aftertaste, better than with artificial sweetener though, and may be because it also contains vanilla. I tried a liquid with lemon which tastes good, but needs to be refrigerated after opening. This version dissolves quickly regardless of temperature and is more convenient than carrying around a bottle of liquid, and tastes better to me than the Splenda I used for a long time. I also found I had to use up to 2 packages of others for the same sweetness of a half package of this. I guess keeping that open 1/2 packet around is a pain, but it's a pain I'll bear gladly :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great during taste & after taste!, February 11, 2010
This review is from: White Stevia Powder 100 Packets (Health and Beauty)
I have recently been on a low carb diet, as I find that I can no longer tolerate even natural sugars like agave, honey, and dates. These raise the blood sugar which spikes the insulin, a hormone whose message is "store fat!" Insulin also causes the kidneys to retain water and therefore I would bloat from a high carb diet.

My dilemma is that I love sweets--and now it is not a problem, thanks to products like stevia, a natural plant that has safely been used in parts of the world as a sweetener for hundreds of years. It has no calories and no impact on the blood sugar (although for some people there might be a bit, as the brain is tricked into thinking it is getting sugar). Stevia used to be legal in the USA only as a cosmetic product because of politics: companies that made low calorie sweeteners such as aspartame did not want competition. Yet, aspartame gave me headaches and even sometimes symptoms of multiple sclerosis. So I would use stevia at times, but the aftertaste was bad--and to be honest, I wasn't too crazy about the "during taste" either.

Then I tried NuNaturals. This product is awesome and like no other stevia I have tried. It is not only delicious but also has no aftertaste (unless you put in way too much--a common mistake by people new to this). It comes in tablets and in powdered form (in a bottle or handy packets with individual servings). It also comes in alcohol-free liquid form and even in vanilla flavor. Unlike aspartame (which becomes even more toxic when heated) stevia can be used in baking. NuNaturals has a stevia baking blend just for that. (Since I am a raw fooder, I can't tell you how it tastes, but I am sure it is good, judging by their other products.)

Thanks to these great products, I can do a low carb raw diet but not be deprived of my sweets!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good, January 11, 2009

This stevia is my favorite. It is not bitter like others I have tried and tastes great in coffee or tea (the only ways I've tried it). I had been using another brand for years but that product was no longer available so I tried at least 5 other brands to find one that I liked, and when I found the NuStevia I was thrilled. In fact I like it even better than the original one. The packets are super convenient to carry in my purse.

5.0 out of 5 stars better for you than aspertame, April 8, 2008
This review is from: White Stevia Powder 100 Packets (Health and Beauty)
I read in a health magazine that this product is better for you than aspertame (which can cause thyroid symptoms),sucrose( because sucrose is sugar)or saccarine. I have no proof of that but I thought I would give it a try since my hair has been falling out from too much aspertame. It tasts good. I can use less than a full package because of it's extra sweetness. It is a plant product and supposedly causes no health problems..Zero calories. I can say that since I started using this product two months a go, my hair stopped falling out which is proof to me it is better for me.

Great product!

The individual packs are very convenient to carry with you to the office or out to restaurants where the usual choices are regular sugar or artificial sweeteners.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best Stevia out there, June 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It tastes no different than any of the other artificial sweeteners I've tried. No bitterness whatsoever. And I've tried them all. I can't speak for those who use cane sugar - if the taste differs but Nu-Stevia beats all the other brands of Stevia.
