The best in the series,
By
This review is from: The White Sun (Futuristic Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I thought that this was the best of the three in Piel's futuristic series. Arnoth was a great hero- handsome, intelligent, kind and sexy! Despite the pain of his past, he was able to find love with Sierra, who I thought was great. She was open, innocent, brave and even clumsy. Defintely someone that Arnoth needed to bring love into his life. What I really enjoyed the most about this book was the growth between the characters. The plot, action and alien worlds the author creates were just as intriguing. It is rare to find a good futuristic book out there and I am glad I had the opportunity to read Piel's futuristic series. Read them!

What a wonderful futuristic!!,
This review is from: The White Sun (Futuristic Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I must say, Stobie Piel is definitely one of my favorite futuristic writers! I read this book first, even though it's book three in the series, and I had to go out and find the other two previous books immediately. :) She has an engaging style that drew me in, and the story itself was wonderful. I liked the romance a lot, including the subplots. This was my first introduction to Batty the Lingbat, and I loved his character!! Have to say he's a favorite. *g* Overall, however, this was definitely an exceptional book, and I have no qualms whatsoever giving it the highest rating I can find. :-)Sarah Pearson

Great futuristic romance starring Arnoth,
By A Customer
This review is from: The White Sun (Futuristic Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
The Tseir have declared that Arnoth of Valenwood is the most dangerous person in the universe because of his pivotal role in their stunning defeat at Candor. They decide that Arnoth has to be more than just eliminated, which would make him into a martyr. He must be captured, probed for weaknesses, and immediately converted to the Tseir lifestyle. The Tseir force Arnoth into surrendering on his home planet of Ellowan by threatening to destroy what is left of the native population. On the space ship back to the Tseir homeworld, Sierra is one of his guards. She is different than the usual clone of a perfect being that all the Tseir seem to be. Instead, she is clumsy, has a sense of humor, and is always in trouble. Not realizing that she is in disguise, Arnoth finds himself attracted to the Tseir, but Ellowans do not touch their enemies. Sierra is drawn towards her captive, but must be careful so she does not reveal her real identity until she completes her covert mission. Even with Batty the Lingbat on board to guide them, this couple has no prayer of finding a future together. THE WHITE SUN is a great futuristic romance that has appeal to fans of both genres. The story line is action-packed yet humorous. The lead protagonists are a fabulous duo, struggling with their growing love vs. honor and duty. The spectacular Stobie Piel provides her fans with a novel that is sure to be acknowledged as one of the best books of the year. Since it is only January, writers have an extraordinarily high bar to attain to match this tale's level of excellence. Harriet Klausner
