5.0 out of 5 stars Bob Rivers Returns!
First, I have been a fan of this guy for many years, (early nineties) and have amassed at least 9-10 of his CD's. Besides his "Twisted Christmas" Issues and his last 'Chipmunk' CD, he has issued many CD's doing straight parodies of major songs as well. Sometimes at parties they do not KNOW its one until they really start listening!

1.0 out of 5 stars White Trash? What White Trash?
Now if you ask me, and plenty folk who identify with the white trash moniker do, this here CD doesn't really have much to do with white trash and has more to do with the September Eleventh attacks. I got this disc because I assumed, by looking at the title that I would find some music that the Huckabee clan could listen to inside our warm, comfortable double wide trailer...

5.0 out of 5 stars Bob Rivers Returns!, October 31, 2002
This review is from: White Trash Christmas (Audio CD)
First, I have been a fan of this guy for many years, (early nineties) and have amassed at least 9-10 of his CD's. Besides his "Twisted Christmas" Issues and his last 'Chipmunk' CD, he has issued many CD's doing straight parodies of major songs as well. Sometimes at parties they do not KNOW its one until they really start listening!

This CD continues his tradition of lampooning the Christmas Classics. Just look at the playlist! Bob and his gang to SEEMLESS impersonations of the Carpenters, Eminem, and others. (They do JC Fogerty, Bob Seger and AC/DC equally well).

Highlights include "Aquaclaus", in the vein of his previous "I Am Santa Claus" on previous cd's. A riot! "Osama Got Run Over By A Reindeer" is also a cartoon on his web site, and is timely.

Me And Mrs. Claus (Billy Paul's Me and Mrs Jones?) ......snickered for an hour. Merry Christmas Allah is lets say a bit irreverent, but typical Bob Rivers. (In the vein of "NFL Sundays" on a previous cd)

These are great tunes to 'slip into' your Christmas Mix. Ths is NOT a cheaper sounding CD, and the sound is everybit as clear as anyother, so don't think its a quick max album.

If you are getting a Christmas CD this year, this is IT, (And the first Red Peters CD to)

5.0 out of 5 stars He Keeps Getting Better, November 13, 2002

I think the greatest compliment I can pay Bob Rivers is that when I was listening to this I often forgot that I wasn't listening to the "real" songs that he parodies. The arrangements and singing are THAT perfect. I don't know how he does it, but his Christmas albums keep getting better.

(I gave it 5 stars, but that's because I give his first Christmas CD, Twisted Christmas, a 6. Buy that one first, then this one.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it "Be Claus" it'll Make You Laugh!, December 3, 2002

This review is from: White Trash Christmas (Audio CD)
Got a friend that hates Christmas? Bob Rivers' "White Trash Christmas" takes the edge right off all that slicky-icky Christmas music and will put a smile on the face of the most determined scrooge. Who could possibly resist "Have yourself an Ozzy Little Christmas" or "What if Eminem Did Jingle Bells?" There's even a sweet little cautionary tale for pot heads in "Be Claus I got High." Wierd All who? Bob Rivers is the unmatched king of parody.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another zinger, November 27, 2002

My first encounter with Bob rivers was a late night DJ spinning "I Am Santa Claus" (a parody of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man). Ever since then I have sought out and bought every single CD the guy puts out. I have been collecting comedy records of all types for over 20 years. I even still have my copy of the Elmo and Patsy's single "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" which Bob has conveniently rewritten to reflect a modern angle. He also has the usual rock'n'roll classics such as "Aquaclaus" (Jethro Tull's "Aqualung") Check it out if your mind is twisted.... Hahahahahahahahah!

4.0 out of 5 stars There'll be cousins kissin' and front teeth missin'., December 4, 2005

This was the fifth Christmas album released by Bob Rivers. It features parodies of Christmas songs and parodies of regular songs done Christmas style. The songs here sound remarkably like the songs they are parodying. For example, the girl who sings the Carpenters parody "Merry Christmas Allah" sounds just like Karen Carpenter. There are also accurate imitations of Eminem, Afroman, Dean Martin and others. And besides that, the songs are very funny. If you like funny Christmas songs, you'll probably enjoy this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars And take this fruitcake, too, November 23, 2007
This review is from: White Trash Christmas (Audio CD)
Bob Rivers is a parodist par excellence. I doubt there's any style he hasn't attempted and he's done both holiday and regular songs. His CDs are so well done if you mix them in with the regular music, only people who're listening will know the difference.

This particular CD is for the trailer park and pink flamingo crowd. One caveat, there really is nothing sacred on this CD.

It's hard to pick a favorite--what I have found with the other Bob Rivers' CD is that I tend to like different songs through the season depending on my mood. Here are a few standouts:

"Me and Mrs. Claus" is a hilarious take on a man playing 'Backdoor Santa' to Mrs. Claus while Santa's slippin' presents in people's stockings.

"Merry Christmas, Allah" is an irreverent take on the Carpenter's schmalty standard--and if like me, you think the original has been overplayed since the first year, you're going to really enjoy this one.

"Aquaclaus" takes Aqualung to the Department Store at Christmastime.

I've heard at least two of his other Christmas parody albums and this one is the best. From the first moment of "Aquaclaus" this CD is a scream. I'm not talking polite giggles. This is big laugh stuff.

All of Bob Rivers Christmas albums are a must for any family gathering. The look on peoples faces when they realize the words are changed is priceless. Of course some songs are better than others but it sure makes gift wrapping so much easier to do.
